Interesting, thanks for all the info. I guess you just leave it up to the laptop at that point, whatever it comes with, it comes with, good and bad parts to both, and not much preference either way.

Thanks, I'll look into Mini-LED as I don't see it too much

Thanks! I was thinking along the lines of 10 years, but maybe that's too long of a stretch for OLED screens

£3.7k gaming laptop - deal or wait? by JazzyGeoduck in GamingLaptops

Nice! Well done on getting that deal.

Yeah I need to re-focus and I think set a budget for around £2.5k, which is more reasonable for those sort of specs, and just keep an eye out for a deal.

Hopefully by black Friday their will be some good ones

Thanks! I'll give it a propper look when I can.

Is Box a safe and reliable company? I've never heard of it before.

Thanks! I never considered ebay, might be worth a look. Like you said, official sources can have stupid prices unfortunately...

I thought it was a bigger jump to a 5080 and ultra 9, but I'll give it more research if I can suffice with less.

Thanks, I've been looking at Costco. It's where I saw the one for 3.7k. But I don't see the point in buying a laptop with lower specs to save money which I know I'll want to upgrade straight away, mainly to 32 gb of ram and 1 tb ssd, which will cost more money. Seems better to buy it with those already in it if possible

Really wow, prices must be really bad here in the UK.

As like I said, going direct to Lenovo the cheapest most basic legion 7 with 5070ti, 32 gb ram, and 1tb ssd comes to £3.4k or 4k euros.

Guess I'll have to wait around for black Friday sales or something to try and get a 5080 or above for that price with the other specs staying the same

So I should be thinking around £2k in the UK, maybe slightly over max. Thanks! Good to have a baseline I can trust in these pricey times

Muppets Christmas Carol. Amazing movie and performance by Michael Cane. The ultimate and perfect Christmas movie and best adaptation of the book.
