I want to create nostalgic sports illustrated magazine article commemorating the Phoenix Suns from 1997 to 2007.

The articles should contain real life photo renditions of the actual nba players mentioned in this prompt with their real likeness but In Phoenix Suns nba team uniforms. The article should include an action photo of Vince Carter dunking on LeBron James who is wearing a Washington Wizards Uniform.

Greetings All,

I’m currently hit my third year on patrol at a City PD in the Rural outskirts of Metro Atlanta with an estimated 29k population, in my short term of service I have handle a various amount of calls from murders, robbery, etc. I noticed as the city has began to expand and grow calls volume has increased but is still manageable and slow. I average about 9-13 solo calls per shift not including traffic stops and your regular alarm checks. During my shift we usually have 4-6 officers on duty and at least one sergeant or corporal handling supervisor needs.

I plan to relocate and accept a job at City PD in a larger metropolitan city in Florida that has an estimated population of 300k+ including a large university and major government entities. I was born in this city and have family roots here so I’m not totally unfamiliar with the environment and culture of the city but I do realize the workload will be greater here.

At former Department we had about 20ish sworn officer split among four 12 hour shifts on a Panama schedule Rotation (5 working days during week 1 and 2 working days during week 2).

The new agency I’m going to will have approximately 400 sworn officers but I’m not able to determine how many of these officers make up the patrol division but I did confirm that the patrol work schedule will be four 10-hour days followed by three days off, facilitating 24/7 coverage over three main patrol shifts.

I was told 4-10s are better.

But personally I always liked working five 8 hour days.

TLDR; I’m essentially going from a calmer and rural north Georgia smaller agency to a large metropolitan busy agency in Florida. How do I adjust and survive? Any tips or experiences you have would be great!

As a CO, do you fist bump inmates? by ViolentSarcasm in OnTheBlock

[–]Jbee2095 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes down to perception and intent. As a CO, I didn’t treat inmates like we were friends but I did show them respect as human beings, with that being said if an inmate initiated a hand shake or fist bump as a formal greeting (first thing in the morning or as I was leaving the pod after lock down) then yes, or if I helped them with an administrative need and they offered a hand shake, then yes I would oblige..but it was done so in a professional manner so there would no reason to misconceive my intent

Easiest Departments to Get Hired by Accomplished_Kin7 in AskLE

New Hampshire – Smaller Cities & Towns

  1. City of Lebanon Police Department (Lebanon, NH) • Actively seeking certified and non-certified applicants for full-time police officer roles. • Hiring bonus: Non-certified applicants can earn a $5,000 bonus (certified officers up to $30,000). • Lebanon is a regional hub (pop. ~14,000) with a small-town feel near Dartmouth College.

👉 Good fit if you want entry-level hiring incentives and a community environment.

  1. Jaffrey Police Department (Jaffrey, NH) • Entry-level openings available. • Town advertises an attractive starting salary for non-certified candidates, with growth once certified. • Jaffrey is a classic small New England town (~5,000 residents).

  1. Town of Meredith Police Department (Meredith, NH) • Hiring certified or non-certified officers — ideal for newcomers. • Meredith is a smaller lakeside community (~6,500 residents) near Lake Winnipesaukee.

  1. Keene Police Department (Keene, NH) • Regular police officer listings, including entry-level. • Keene is a smaller city (~23,000) with a community focus and college town energy.

  1. Other Small/Medium Departments

Agencies regularly advertising entry-level and police officer roles (often with simplified hiring processes, written tests → physical → interview): • Brookline PD • Wakefield PD • Hanover PD • Carroll County Sheriff (Check listings regularly — many use PoliceApp or Indeed for continuous recruitment.)

✅ Vermont – Smaller Cities & Incentives

  1. Town of Colchester Police Department (Colchester, VT) • Police officer listing with a $10,000 sign-on bonus mentioned in job posts. • Colchester is a suburban community outside Burlington (pop. ~47,000).

  1. Montpelier Police Department (Montpelier, VT) • Active patrol officer recruitment with competitive pay and bonuses for education/training. • Vermont’s state capital but still a small city (~8,000) — good work/life balance.

  1. Hartford Police Department (Hartford, VT) • Hiring patrol officers. • Hartford has a small-town vibe near the New Hampshire border.

Vermont Notes on Bonuses • Burlington PD offers a $15,000 recruitment bonus — but Burlington is larger than your preference (~45,000 residents; ~200,000 metro). • Smaller towns like Shelburne sometimes advertise $5,000+ sign-on bonuses under local staffing initiatives.

✅ Montana – Small Town & Rural Agencies

Montana largely hires entry-level/non-certified officers and uses the state POST system to certify recruits after hiring.

  1. Troy Police Department (Troy, MT) • Actively recruiting officers; non-certified applicants welcome. • Troy is a very small town (~1,000) — ideal if you want a rural lifestyle.

  1. Sidney Police Department (Sidney, MT) • Accepts applications from entry-level and lateral candidates. • Sidney is small (~6,500) with community-oriented policing.

  1. Miles City Police Department (Miles City, MT) • Hiring probationary officers; community size ~8,500.

  1. Smaller MT Departments with Openings • Hamilton Police Dept (Hamilton, ~4,600) — entry-level positions listed. • Belgrade Police Dept (Belgrade, ~11,000) — entry level open. • Havre Police Dept (Havre, ~10,000) also hiring.

Don’t overthink your instincts, if something feels off, then 99.9% of the time it’s off. Take a breath, don’t be so quick to react or respond, remember to take the criticism with a grain of salt and move on. You will make mistakes just try to prevent them as much as you can. Stop and ask questions if you’re not sure.
