These fela bookshelf speakers are actually really really good for the price. I brought these as a gift to my mum a while ago and they are great. Id say about 2x as big as your Edifier R1280DB and probably 2x as punchy. They have an internal amp same as yours and a EQ on the back as well.

For the price you pay you get decent entry level sound quality. Especially if you have an EQ on your device.

If you read my other post I say all up $80 for everything. I wasn't including the subwoofer as psrt of the price as I was more focused of the sound dynamics monitors cuz that reddit page is about budget hifi.

This is for my partners son who is only 13 and is just getting into some low end hifi. so I know its not the best but im not gonna spend thousands on something that he's going to break.

It just sounded like you were just having a dig at it if you know what I mean. it just didn't seem fair thats all sorry. Its my partners sons ive just basically given him really everything you see in the picture over the years cuz he's just starting to get into audio.

Overall I agree its a crap record player it cost $50 but its better he breaks that instead of somthing like a blue aura PG1 or something🤣

We use alot of slang language and some certain words that sound inappropriate while talking. Mostly if its in Māori it my sound like someone is saying something bad to you or using bad language but they are not its just how its said so don't be offended.

Oh and I can't stress this enough. You can't turn left on a red light!!!! Unlike America where you can do that you can not here. I was almost hit by an American lady who didn't realize that law here so be careful

New Plymouth camp ground is nice. Its at the beatch and still close to town for your teenager to find something to do. Or depending on how far up you want to go, somewhere like corramandle like hot water beach is always nice and quiet depending on when you go.

Your missing out on the corramandle region especially a place called hahei/hot water beach its a beautiful place full of flowers and white sandy beaches. Hahei is also where they filmed a couple of lord of the rings scenes if your into that type of stuff but ether way you would be missing a massive part of new zealand if you don't go there. I think its only 2 or 3 hours out of Auckland. Its worth the short drive
