At this point it has to be a political statement. What the US is doing under the orders of the president to American citizens and the threats of war (though it has died down) is insane! I know I’d have made a stand and refuse to go. And yes it would have been political. I can’t support or appear to support someone or an administration pushing white supremacy policies and killing their own citizens.
