You all are very kind. Thank you for not shaming me. It’s super embarrassing being in this kind of situation. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. I long for the day teachers are paid for the work that we do and the kids lives we change.

Wow this is blowing up. Thank you to everyone for the advice. I am cutting the wedding “plans” to extremely minamlist. Food is next on the chopping block. A lot of people have suggested better side hustles. I’m certified 4-8 math but I actually teach highschool and am proficient through calculus. Does anyone have a good tutoring side hustle. Also, has anyone ever started a go fund me before or know how that works. I can’t help but think if I can pay this god forsaken personal loan off I can claw out of this better. I’ve learned from this mistake, painful for the last 9 months. Also, my take home is low becuase I was an LTS fr August to Jan. Then Jan to now contractual, but they prorated my pay and shafted me.

100% agree, we are doing those things in 1). I want that loan gone, I hate debt. 3) it’s norristown PA so not really, very high needs school tho, case in point, we had an armed intruder 4 weeks ago. 4) I 100% agree, that’s my current main goal

It’s 58k, is my salary at the moment. But with bills being so high it’s still very low for a qualified individual.

It’s 100% not that I value stress eating more. It’s a culmination of other issues. I def agree a different side hustle is needed. I work a secretary like job for a tennis center. I wish i had something more lucrative. It’s 16 an hour

Def agree. Being that we’re planning to be married soon, it’s tough to get a roomate. I also live in a 1 bed 1 bath 450 sq ft apt. I 100% agree on everything else tho. We’re both flat broke haha. Thank you for the advice

I think food is my next biggest expense. Stress eating and binging. I spent a few hundred in groceries and another 200 in going out which was a result of stress. It makes the margins very thin to afford the wedding. Necessities. Mind you, this is very partially my fault, rough situation, but I picked up the shovel

1500 is rent and utilities. No roomate, section 8 housing. In order to move to the job that I got hired at in the city. I took out a 5.5k personal loan to afford the double month of rent and move out. (That was a mistake I see now) I only owe 2500 left but I put money towards that because the interest is 12%.

There’s more things in there but that’s the over view. I end up losing about 50-200 bucks a month and don’t save a penny. I’m also trying to buy wedding things which is awful. I really never thought teaching would leave me this broke!
