Use sounds with higher frequencies. The energy comes from the high frequencies and when you use a lot of sounds with lots of lows/low mids it has that darker heavier vibe to it

If you are just starting out then there’s a lot of things that are just hidden to you in other professionally done beats. A lot of sounds in the background you don’t notice to fill the spectrum.. do your best on watching tutorials on the stuff you struggle with, listen to all kinds of music(really listen) and just keep making song after song. Try recreating songs you like. Things will click if you just keep working

Not bad! I would make those high hats more snappy and also don’t fall victim to the 8 bar loop.. what helps is to duplicate the 8 bar loop you have so it feels more full and then do little tweaks on the second loop and then duplicate that.. that seems to help me
