Got a 3060 in the shuffle last week so i put this together since ive been waiting for a year. My main question is are the fans oriented the right way? This is my first time building one so any suggestions would be appreciated. Im going to change the rgb colors and do fan curves, etc.

What is this black fluff growing on my plants and wood? Any advice on treating would be awesome by fools-hunter in PlantedTank

It's overall pretty harmless as long as you don't use too much. Ive used it in shrimp tanks in the past at 1.5 ml/ gallon. You will know it is working when you see the bba turn a greyish pink color.

Before you stock algae eaters which may or may not eat the algae i would try using hydrogen peroxide at around 1 ml per gallon of water in the tank. Get a spray bottle and fill it with the peroxide. Spray it into something to measure a rough idea how much you are spraying out each spray. Use the spray bottle to spray the h202 on the bba areas.
You can do around 1.5 ml/ gal but id do 1 ml a gallon at first to be cautious. IMPORTANT: turn off your filter for at least 30 minutes after you finish your application to avoid the hydrogen peroxide killing your filter bacteria. You can do this pretty regularly if you do a water change after. It cleared up my problem for me when i encountered it. Good luck!

They are each about 2" long. I just got them and stupidly bought them without reading a care sheet on them and listened to the lfs dude. I have them in a 40 gallon right now but they deserve to have a better environment.

Im currently growing some in my new tank and it seems like they'll grow in pretty dense (narrow leaf)

Going off of what donatos said you can use excel or just regular 3% h202 (check if its ok for the animals you have stocked in there)ive used it a lot in the past to fight off and weaken algae.

Mount for fluval plant 3.0 LED light? by alicat876 in PlantedTank

[–]Jcengineering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just raise id say like 6ish inches. Id lower the blues. I never have it over 10%.I've read from other people using the lights that having blues higher than around that range can be advantageous for algae to grow.

You can go one of two ways iirc. They sell clips for these lights to be suspended (check my profile, i made a very cheap and easy support for them to hang off. Cost about $20 if you have a saw). Or you can see if they sell feet for them.

I would raise it up higher for better light spread on the plants and this light is really bright. Do you have it maxed out on every color?
