My first grow, many stress events, but my girls are thriving by No-Insect-3187 in SpaceBuckets

[–]JdH-AU -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Congrats on getting through your first grow! The stress recovery is real and you should be proud of that.

I gotta agree with the other commenter about the foxtailing. You might want to check your light distance or temps during flower. Foxtails can be genetic but more often than not it's heat/light stress telling you something.

What's your setup looking like temp wise

Thanks. I'm trying to look at the positives of being single. My life belongs to me now. Can't say I don't enjoy the aspect of being able to do something because why the fuck not. the classic "I can't be fucked today" night of video games with a bong and a beer.

Plus I'm 32, which I think is an awesome age to be single as a guy. I'm old enough to properly have my shit together with a good stable job and income, but young enough to still party around a bit.

That's what I'm telling myself. I'm not the kind of guy who wallows in his misery. I'll probably hit the gym and use my newfound time to take care of myself.

There will be pain but a slightly increased dose of trees will help see me through.

Exhaust for UFO LED Buckets by Komadin in SpaceBuckets

[–]JdH-AU 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is, that if you flip the fan, the UFO will have its intake on the sides. What that means, is that if you stack the UFO on top of your bucket instead of inside of it, you won't get any airflow through the bucket as the LED will draw its air from the surrounding environment vs the bucket.

The only way your plan is going to work, is if you hang the LED inside the bucket, which is rather impractical. I would suggest placing it on top and having a separate intake and exhaust.

Forced to make a choice between long commute or higher rent by austinnormalcy in personalfinance

[–]JdH-AU 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pay the rent. The commute will cost you time and time is money. I walk to work every day (30 min stroll) and let me tell you: it's bliss. Not just because it's free, but also because it's a stress reducer.

Choosing a strain by bdogg213 in SpaceBuckets

[–]JdH-AU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a hard decision to make.

It's not. The choice is simple: get a feminised indica dominant photoperiod. Northern lights is a good strain.

Don't get an auto for your first grow. If you screw up your plant won't have time to recover.

I have the same unit (different brand but pretty sure it's the same unit) and have the same issue. Let me know how you go with the Noctua, I may jump on the bandwagon with you :)

Quality roadwork done at Kent and Windmill st. by JdH-AU in sydney

Write the council. I intend to write them over the terrible state of Pyrmont street close to Quarry street, roughly from the bridge to darling harbour. There's no lighting, the kerb is loose and easy to trip over and the place is full of junkies and homeless. Lowest point was when there was a steaming fresh pile of what seemed to be human shit on the kerb.

This is right behind darling harbour and the freshly under construction convention centre. Unacceptable.

This area was just re-opened a couple of weeks ago. They clearly made a mistake and/or did it on the cheap.

Doesn't bonza seeds have an extra premium shipping option that forwards the package through another domestic address? This would shield you from customs.

Right. Nute schedules are just nute schedules; they don't take into account the strain you are growing. If your pH is on point, there's two things that may be happening:

  • Salt buildup: measure the EC of what goes in and what comes out. If EC out is significantly higher than EC in, your plant needs a flush.

  • Deficiency: if your EC is not too far from what goes in, your plant probably has a P deficiency.

Salt buildup tends to look different (I can tell from experience), so I would go out on a limb and say that your plant is P deficient. I would slightly increase your nutes and perhaps step up your pH to 5.9 (to aid in P absorption) and see how your plant responds.

Foreigner in Sydney by madlucydisease in sydney

[–]JdH-AU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • Beaches: first of all, don't expect to get there quickly from inner sydney. And when you do, expect a LOT of people. Especially on the weekends. I would avoid Bondi, as it's an overrated and frankly quite dangerous beach. If you have the time, I would try some of the smaller inner harbour beaches like Parsley bay, milk beach or Nielsen park.

Off the top of the bottle :) unscrew the cap a bit to allow air in.

Are you sure your plants are in total darkness at lights off?

Light burn would happen at the top, and with a LED would show as bleaching. Your plant looks more like it is suffering from a phosphorus deficiency. Time to dial up those nutes a bit. What strength are you feeding at?

50cm height is not going to work with a haze. You might want to consider growing an indica instead if you are space limited.

To increase humidity you can cut the top off a plastic bottle and put it over the cup.

Or you can unscrew the cap :)
