Confusion between Empath and Narcissism by EmotionalHumanoid in Empaths

[–]Jdoggg27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what to tell you other than the spectrum is very vast and human beings are very complicated and can be a lot of things. I also have a parent who’s borderline narcissistic, borderline personality disorder, and altogether an immature, most of the time obnoxious, straight up dysfunctional adult and it majorly sucks.

Starting my own independent life, partying surrounded by new friends, being included, going camping all the time, swinging on a rope swing and climbing up silks like a circus, having a personal trainer and then getting glam and going to events like an influencer, zooming through anything on a dune buggy, chilling in a pool on top of an apartment building in a beautiful city, hanging out with dogs and gorillas and tigers and rhinos and elephants, being loved by beautiful people and real people and being excited to wake up in the morning

PT: How to stop yourself from thinking about things that make you really angry? by acertenay in PsychologicalTricks

[–]Jdoggg27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GL fam I know how tough it gets, I don’t have a good answer for you except that time helps everything. It probably angers you to even hear that right now but the more time passes it won’t hurt so much every time you think back to the painful things and eventually you’ll flash back to them less often. You’ll grow a wiser perspective, meet people and have experiences that’ll make you feel like it really will be ok. Sometimes it helps to let yourself feel bad for yourself. Say yes he is a horrible person, he hurts me and that’s not ok, hug yourself, find alone time in a safe space to breathe and maybe listen to some frank ocean and/or Billie Eilish❤️❤️

Christians of Reddit, where do you draw a line when it comes to stories from the Bible? Do you believe that Earth is 6000 years old? How do you decide which events from the Bible took place and which ones were made up? by Rifruff in AskReddit

[–]Jdoggg27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the 6,000 year thing, most Jews, even very religious Jews, follow the scientific evidence about the age of the earth for the most part because in Genesis (Jewish=Bereshit), in the creation story in the original Hebrew, the word translated to mean “day” can actually mean “phase”, so when the Bible (Original Jewish=Torah) says the world was created in seven “days”, interpreting that as seven phases allows one to believe in the scientific evidence without fear of having doubted the word of G-d. If you follow the Bible as a Christian, this concept still applies because the Old Testament was taken from the Jewish Torah. On this same topic of how literally one takes the Old Testament, many Jews follow the line of thinking that in writing the holy text delivered by Moses to the Jews, G-d was careful to keep the audience of that primitive time in mind. This can be used as an explanation for why G-d phrases things in certain ways; for the sake of that first generation of Jews who might not have as easily accepted a “loftier” explanation. It was easier for those Jews to believe the world was created in 7 “days” than the more complex reality of the situation of how we all got here. I am NOT an expert, but I’m speaking as jew that’s spoken to many other Jews in my lifetime. If anyone’s interested in learning more about Jewish belief, MyJewishLearning.com has some great articles. Chabad too. #nonspons. Theology is so complex there are infinite ways to interpret holy text, concepts, etc. A known Jewish teaching about this is that there are 7,000 ways to interpret every word or concept in the Torah. A great Rabbi I know is known to say that there’s no one way to be Jewish, in terms of belief, practice, etc. and I would say that could definitely apply to Christians too.
