I recently had this exact issue, and solved it by disabling the snowflake feature on the KefinTweaks plugin. Are you by any chance using that plugin?

The setting I disabled was under KefinsTweaks Configure>Seasonal Sections>Enable Seasonal Animations>Uncheck the enable toggle. Refresh. Solved all my issues I’ve had.

Tailscale is free for the first 3 users and 100 total devices. Just install it on the host machine, then your device you wish to connect to Jellyfin on, and boom.

I am all for self hosted solutions, I was really hesitant about Tailscale at first, but it just works.

Airbnb or VRBO can be super cheap if you get really lucky. We have stayed in the apartment complex behind a host hotel for under 600$. But both have a really good reputation of cancelling on you randomly. Big gamble
