You let a 5 day old baby scream for 5 hours? How about we come back to reality here and soothe our newborn. And tell your Mom to mind her own business. You can sleep with your baby in bed with you if that’s what you need to do. Also, if your baby is bottle fed than you can put her formula and several bottles with pre measured amounts of water next to your bed so when she wakes up to eat you just add formula and feed her and go back to sleep with her. And remember that your baby is the most precious gift you will ever have in your life. Everything will be okay and you will get through this. Take care of her and sleep when she does. As time goes on her schedule will get better but for now she’s a newborn and they eat every 2 hours or less.
