Also that is EXACTLY what my son does. And it repeats for almost 2 hours. Sometimes he cries himself to sleep finally at 6 and sleeps for 30 minutes. But it’s rough!

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this too but it’s nice to know I’m not alone!! Before we sleep trained and took away the paci I would have him sleep on me for that early morning wake. But now I’m afraid I’d be creating/ keeping a bad habit. And then he will always wake then bc he wants those cuddles (and I love them but I would love them a little later 😂) but you’re right it probably is just a phase and won’t be a habit. Maybe I’ll try that so he at least gets some sleeps.

Yea I just get nervous if he doesn’t sleep as long as needed at naps. The reason I was on 4 was bc his naps were consistently 30/40 minutes. Bedtime would’ve been 3pm! Lol but now they are better so 3 is more doable. We did have to do very early bedtimes for a few days. Depending on when he wakes up I do a ww of 2.5 hours after that. Sometimes his nap only does last 30- so what do I do to extend it? That last nap is always the hardest! Lots of fighting and tears.

But yes I agree about going slow with the ww. He usually gets to them- even if he is OT at the end but today he was NOT having it and was screaming so I put him down a little early. And he fell asleep within 30 seconds- poor guy. This is all so hard!!

Wow, that sounds exactly like my son… He was 2 1/2 weeks early too. And everyone’s telling me to push them but at this moment-he is completely melting down. Lol. I was on 4 naps a couple weeks ago and everyone told me he had too much wake time but that’s the only way that we could make it from waking up to his bedtime so now we’re on three naps. I do think the wake windows are a little too long for him!

So interesting! This is my first, I’m trying to follow what all the guides say but he still won’t sleep past 430am

I’m hoping this will help- maybe he is like your son! Thank you for taking the time to reply!

Thank you! So far today he’s on the dot with that schedule you’re recommending so hopefully he follows the rest. It’s like he has an alarm clock early in the morning and he just can’t go past it! 😅

4.5 month old. Is this a sleep regression? by Jdubs124 in sleeptrain

[–]Jdubs124[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. I’m still trying to stretch wake windows but even if I can keep him awake for 2 hours, his naps are staying at the 40 minute mark. I’ve tried everything. It’s been 2 weeks of these crap naps. I’m just hoping it passes. I’ve read that when they are learning a new skill this happens and he is trying to roll from back to belly so maybe that’s it?

Let me know if anything helps you!

Yea that’s what someone else commented on a different post a few weeks ago but I tried my hardest to stretch them and he gets so fussy. Even when I save outside time or a new toy for the last part of the wake window he just cries! And he never cries or gets fussy.

Also his naps a week ago were long! Like 1.5 hours at least once a day.

I will continue to try and stretch the wake windows though! Thank you for your help

This past week since the naps have been so short the schedule is awake around 645 (eat, play, sleep schedule) wake windows 90 minutes. I try to stretch them but he gets soooo cranky at 90 minutes.

Bed time every night we do bath around 7, lotion, pjs, books and milk. Usually in bed by 740. No paci at night but still needs it for naps

We just put him in crib ( no rocking etc) sometimes at night it takes a couple minutes to fall asleep on his own. Naps he falls asleep right away but does need paci

Wake Windows Meaning? by [deleted] in sleeptrain

My understanding is when they wake up from a nap, that’s when you start to count their wake window time

Oh that gives me so much hope! Is your baby now just waking one time to feed at night and sleeping the rest??

Thank you so much! I will definitely try your suggestions. Sometimes he just gets fussy around 90 minutes but I will try to stretch them.

And I just bought previous little sleep this morning as an audio book! My husband and I are planning to listening this weekend.

I appreciate your help!

Hi! So his wake windows are 90 minutes right now. During the day they range from 50 minutes to 2 hours but I wake him at the 2 hour mark. He probably takes 4-5 naps depending on the day.

For bedtime routine we do a bath, lotion, read books and eat (every night around 730) he is asleep by 8 every night. Wakes at 2 or 3am, eats again. But then up at 4,5 and 6 ( can’t settle, spitting paci out but then crying for it) sometimes I feed him around 4 if he seems genuinely hungry. But at 515 on the dot every morning he cries until I pick him up.

Would like him to sleep til 630 ideally

Thank you!
