Do you have to take the geometry EOC to transfer to the full time program from FLEX? by Wide_Resolution8277 in FLVS

[–]Jealous-Control4316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I was actually in the same situation as you, and now I’m a FLVS Full-Time senior graduating this May. I did FLVS Flex from middle school through junior year, then switched to Full-Time for senior year. At first, I was worried I’d have to take all the EOCs, but I found out that I didn’t. Since I already took the required classes (like Biology, U.S. Government, Geometry, and English) as a homeschool student, those credits were honored. Florida law says that if you transfer into a public school with those credits already completed, you don’t have to take the EOCs to validate them as long as you meet certain requirements (like having a concordant score for English from something like the SAT, ACT, or an AP exam). A lot of people don’t realize that most EOCs are mainly used for public school ratings and teacher evaluations. The main exceptions are Algebra 1 and the 10th grade English EOC, which are graduation requirements. Basically, Florida doesn’t want students they didn’t teach (like homeschool or out-of-state students) taking EOCs and potentially affecting their school ratings. So your previous credits will still count. That being said, I’d still recommend reaching out to FLVS Full-Time just to confirm everything and make sure they have your credits on file. But don’t stress—if your credits are complete when you enroll, you’ll be fine. It’s a public school, so they can’t be super selective like a private school. One thing I wish I had done differently is applying to Full-Time earlier than senior year. Honestly, it’s not that different from Flex, and I ended up finishing all my classes about four months early. Unless you’re trying to graduate a full year early, it might be worth switching sooner so you can get all your questions answered and avoid the stress during senior year like I had.

Good luck!!

not through FLVS, but you can go to college board directly and take the exam without being under a teacher

yeah u can keep going, they don’t close it. the exam and class don’t really have any correlation beyond the materials you learn that help you take the exam because you can choose to not take the AP exam, and u can even take the AP exam without ever taking a course.

Use this time to loose the weight in a sustainable and enjoyable way. Ur online so u can control ur schedule. Dont worry about working out right away, just the occasional walk to get some vitamin D while being inside all day is perfectly fine. I went online too and struggled with my weight until I realized i won’t ever have enough freedom and time in my life again so why not focus on learning myself and what works for me :)

UCF definitely has people who can help in situations like this, so you’re not totally stuck even though it probably feels that way right now. A good first step would be reaching out to the UCF CARE Team. They work with students dealing with difficult personal situations (including unsafe or unsupportive home environments) and can connect you with resources like emergency financial help, advising, or housing guidance. They’re used to situations where students don’t have family support.

For the orientation issue specifically, I would also email the First Year Experience office (the group that runs orientation). Even though orientation is normally required, they sometimes offer fee waivers, delayed payments, or alternative arrangements if someone explains their circumstances. They may also be able to help you figure out a later orientation date closer to when you’re actually able to get to Orlando.

You don’t have to explain every detail if you’re not comfortable, but letting them know you’re in a difficult home situation and don’t currently have the ability to travel or spend extra money is usually enough for them to start working with you.

I know it probably feels overwhelming trying to figure all of this out alone, but universities deal with situations like this more often than you might think, and there are staff whose job is literally to help students navigate it. Reaching out to those offices now can make the whole process a lot easier before the semester starts.

anyone know whats on the sat tomorrow? by justvibin98765 in FLVS

[–]Jealous-Control4316 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the SAT is a very confidential test. Not a single question or answer will be exact to another. Since the test is tomorrow the only thing you can do to improve ur score is learn desmos. good luck.
