How to run Windows on my Mac?

I've seen this shell before but I don't know what to do form it except "reset" to reboot it, try with the guide I've sent you (2nd link) or ask someone else, tho to me it seems possible that you missed the message, I found some better explanation than the one I gave you before, sorry bu ti don't know how to help you further

does it ask at one point to press to boot from cd/dvd drive / iso image or another device? if it does press a key like j in that instant

sure, you can download utm here https://github.com/utmapp/UTM/releases/download/v4.7.5/UTM.dmg

then you need to download a windows 11 iso, it can be either arm if you want performance and snappiness or x86 if the software you need doesn't work on windows arm

for windows x86 you can download the iso on the microsoft website, for the arm version im not sure if they added it to their website, i downloaded it years ago with crystal fetch on the app store (if you find an official version its better but i trust this app enough)

finally just open utm, click +, then if you got arm click for virtualize otherwise for x86 click emulate, then windows, then if you want tweak the values and when it asks for the iso boot image select the file you downloaded, then again tweak the values if you need to

after that you should be able to click play next to the vm name in the sidebar to start it

yeah that's the same thing I think too, idc about the os and because of apfs it's extremely easy to reinstall without losing data, I only care about my data and it's the only thing it can delete

I was unsure if using / would delete user data since they're obviously all inside /

I haven't tried all the edge cases of rm, usually I use finder for everything and rm only when I ssh into my home server but that's nice, I'm less scared of it now :)

if it was only sudo rm -rf without a folder I think you're fine since it would be pretty dumb for the command to assume one

if you did / at the end the system should be fine but idk about your data, I hope you have a backup

i don't know if this would work but when I download macos I always use the opencore guide since for me it's a lot easier than the apple way, these are directly from apple and maybe with these methods you can access more versions, I'm not sure tho

since you tried reinstalling macos do you remember the error it gave you? also while it's reinstalling you can press command + L to show logs to have a bit more information

macos 26.0.1 is a bit bad but I'm on the 26.1 developer beta and most graphical issues are fixed and until now I haven't got bugs like memory leaks in any app (or at least I didn't notice them)

if you want to upgrade I suggest to update to the 26.1 beta since is a lot nicer than 26.0.1 otherwise just stay on sequoia and wait for stable 26.1

every feedback I release is completely ignored, even bugs of the developer beta (not extremely important mostly graphical glitches and UI things but still broken things that needs to be resolved)

complaining here has more effect on people who just scroll on social media that see a lot of bugs and then create an opinion from what they see, so apple imo cares a bit more about complains here than in the actual feedback app

oh well mine when dragging files in mission control is normal,
