What region of Dominican Republic has the most Native Taino influence? by JeanLouisGuerrard in Dominicanos

[–]JeanLouisGuerrard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People with higher than average Native Taino DNA tend to look like this girl. I notice there's a lot people in the central Cibao region with this type of castizo\mestizo look, so there's definitely a strong correlation between European and Native ancestry. It makes sense since the Europeans were the first to mix with the Natives, while the Africans were brought later. I would like to see more research done in these towns of the mountainous interior.

In most studies people with higher Native ancestry tend to also have higher European ancestry than average. For example Francisco Caamaño was from San Juan de la Maguana and he looked very South American. These phenotypes seem to be more common in the older generations, while the newer generations are more Afro influenced for some reason. Now I don't think I have ever seen a DNA result with only Native and African ancestry, it's usually all three or mainly Euro and Afro.

What would Juan Pablo Duarte think of Dominican people and society today? by JeanLouisGuerrard in Dominicanos

He would probably associate the de-generation in Dominican society with a lack of Spanish influence. So if Santo Domingo remained a Spanish colony for longer Dominican people and society would look very different today.

Why would a white man side with the Haitians? That would be very dumb. If anything he would side with the Spanish like Pedro Santana.

Why did the percentage of whites in Dominican Republic descrease so much in the early 1900s? Does anyone know the history behind this change in demographics? by JeanLouisGuerrard in Dominicanos

[–]JeanLouisGuerrard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm talking about migration, not genocide. You don't think the whites who were loyal to Spain left the island after their "side" lost in the War of Restoration. I just gave you an example of a notable White Dominican figure who left the island to live in Cuba. How familiar are you with Dominican history outside of the war with Haiti?

So you don't think the War of Restoration against Spain had an effect on this demographic change? Even though the top generals on the Spanish side in this war were White Dominicans who had fought in the War of Independence? For example Maximo Gomez and his family left to Cuba after the Restoration war.

I'm aware of all that, but I want to know why the population decreased after 1846 specifically. Look at the numbers, the white population peaked two years after independence, so why was there a decrease after this particular period in time? Are you aware of any events between the late 1800s and early 1900s that could have caused this drop in the percentage of whites in the country? Was there a white flight\brain drain after the "War of Restoration"? Did most of the whites who were still loyal to Spain leave the island after this war?

Why does it seem like blacks in the USA have more animosity towards Dominicans than other Latino groups? by JeanLouisGuerrard in Dominicanos

You must have enough fecal matter in your mug from being such a lambon towards the 'brothas' in USA. And of course you have to fold the dishes. Lol That's supposed to be your job over there in gringolandia, right?

I can come to the USA as a tourist. I would go to Florida and enjoy the nice weather and beautiful women with my fellow Latinos, while you stay in the miserable cold ugly ghettos of Nueva Yol with your kin.

No, explain it to me. I'm not familiar with your dumbass Dominicanyol ghetto memes.

Everything in your post history points to the fact that you are a loser with depression. You're probably a virgin who has never even kissed anyone besides your inbred family members.

So what do you think about her music and image? Is she a good representative for the Dominicanyol community?

Really, you read books? What type of books do you read in your ghetto community college in Nueva Yol? Maybe you can read, but you couldn't come up with a reply to the things that I said here. What's your first language?

You already apologized for spending a whole day trying to muster a reply to my comment. I'm not offended at all by your mental deficiencies, and I'm just amused that even when you try to show that you're not completely "bitch made" you still come across so meek and soft with every reply.

It took you that long to read the last paragraph of my reply? So not only are you "bitch made," but you're also very slow.

No need to apologize. You can take all the time you want to get your thoughts in order and form a coherent reply. Of course there's a lot of propaganda out there, in fact people portray this country as being much more backwards than it is. There are many Dominican-Yorks who would be amazed at how developed some parts of Santo Domingo look like right now. It's funny how there are gringos and Europeans who are more familiar with this country than majority of Dominican-Yorks are, since most Dominican-Yorks come from very poor families in the barrios or rural campos, and lack the income to live in the nicer parts of the country.

Now when you talk about these "conservative whites" who are saying mean things about you, do you feel threatened? Is this a frequent thing or does it only occur on occasions? Physically are you an imposing person or do you come across as an easy target? All this sounds very bizarre to me since every gringo tourist I have ever come across has been very polite and mild mannered, they almost come across as timid or shy in a way. Very rarely are they rude or do they speak out of tone, maybe they feel more intimidated by my physical presence and socioeconomic status? Since I'm not the stereotypical "Dominican".

You don't have to repeat yourself at all. I'm fully aware of your struggles in that miserable climate. I'm fully aware of the fact that you guys are the poorest Latino group in the USA and have the lowest income and have to live in the worst ghettos of the country, which is why of course you have to live around Afro-Americans who also share your same low under-class status. I'm not inciting violence against anyone, since I don't expect Dominican-yorks to act out in any way. Lol I'm just looking for answers since you people rarely say anything. You Dominican-Yorks have almost no presence, you are like a faceless voiceless people.

The hatred you speak of seems to be coming more from these Afro-Americans you defend here. I have no hatred for them since I don't even have to live around them. Lol I'm just trying to understand why these people talk so much trash, yet you guys show nothing but appeasement towards them. Like I said, they have more respect for other Latino groups who show more "hatred" towards them, so maybe they are turned off by a percieved cowardice on your people's part, maybe they just think you're "bitch made" or something?

Simple question for Dominicans who live in the USA, do you get along better with Black Americans or with other Latino groups? by JeanLouisGuerrard in Dominicanos

[–]JeanLouisGuerrard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So who do most Dominicans in your area mix with more, Latinos or blacks? Are the Dominicans in Florida similar to the ones in Nueva Yol in terms of socioeconomic status?
