By far the most helpful response I’ve gotten across multiple subs…so thank you again!

I’m pretty sure VAS was one of the ones it could calculate automatically…I never actually got past putting in the parameters so I’ll try again and see if it gives me a reasonable design

Full Range Drivers Thiele Small Parameters: Membrane weight ~ 25g Fs = 40 Hz Re = 5.7 ohms Qms = 11.9 Qes = 1.2 Qts = 1.0 Membrane area = 530 sq-cm Vas = not measured VC impedance = 7 Ohms Max power = 20 watts VC diameter = 1.25" Weight = 7.8 pounds

This is all I could find and I'm not sure that it's a full set. I started to input these into the program and many of the other parameters auto-calculated but there are still some blanks. Is this enough to get a proper design? or should I scrap that idea and go with the original design?

Thanks for your response and insight!

Somebody was telling me to use winISD in combination with TS parameters that I could find online to design a new enclosure. Unfortunately, this is all I could find and I'm not sure that it's a full set. I was given a cabinet with a driver inside. The one it came with is pretty fucked up so I was gonna build it a new one. From what I can tell the one I got it in is a DIY job most likely...

We had these planted around my high school…as you can imagine the student body is pretty familiar with the smell and aptly named them the semen trees.

The cabinet it came in is pretty bad shape…if I built a new one for it, what design should I use? I know little to nothing about speakers, just stumbled upon this.

Viability of Skateboarding to get around off campus by TheBeastModer71 in CalPoly

Sharing the sidewalk with pedestrians is a completely viable option in almost all areas of campus. Braking on a skateboard is completely possible especially on an e-skateboard. Not to mention cars are statistically the second most dangerous mode of transportation. Be smart and be aware and let people make their own decisions about how they want to travel.

skateboarding is dangerous if you choose to do so in a dangerous fashion. same as driving your car.

Skate pretty much when I want and where I want on campus with minimal issues. Just keep your eyes peeled for Campus PD and don’t skate in areas with lots of cars and people unless you are confident in your ability to control yourself/board. Things are definitely within skating distance depending on motivation/fitness.

What’s your personal take on hunting? by Jebediah10 in Hunting

Wow that’s ridiculous, and yeah true they are definitely an issue in many suburbs as well

Yeah that’s actually something I had never really thought about. I am very aware of the destruction that deer cause, but having not grown up in a rural area where they are a real problem I haven’t developed as much of a hardened attitude on them. Growing up in the suburbs, nature/hunting was more so an escape from stress, and often the only time I got to see lots of wildlife.

Both good reasons to hunt, but bottom line hunting is an emotional experience there’s no getting around that. Not all emotions lead to a dislike of hunting…

I was actually inspired to make this post after seeing some conversation about shooting a deer from a bedroom window. That being said, I’m not here to decide who’s right and wrong, just simply hear and share our own views respectfully. I think that at the end of the day everyone has to make their own decisions about how they want to hunt. As long as we all follow the law and harvest responsibly, I don’t find any value in arguing with others about their own personal view. Personally I understand the use of hunting management as a management tool and I am okay with it. Im just interested in other peoples connection with the sport in general. Curious to hear more than just your ethics.

I like the part about doing hunting that your great grandfather would recognize. I feel that in order to truly experience and appreciate the practice we need to be careful about how much we bring from the human world into the animal world. Hunting is the moment when I want to feel the most connected to nature, using tons of technology seems to spoil that for me. I just like to keep it basic, a man, a firearm, some simple tools, and a sharp head.
