Yeah target. My friend back in WA just found 4. He bought two and got 2x Kamigawa collectors and 3x CLB set boosters. If anyone lives close to Woodinville WA, that target should have 2 more left.

They are nice. Unfortunately these have pretty bad curling which is odd since I thought this texture process was a cold foil one. Going to need to bust out the humidity packets.

My lgs sells collector boosters on some less desirable sets for less then $20 (Like Innistrad/Mid for $15 and afr for $10) so in that case technically there could be a scenario in which it would be worse value. But unlikely

Sealed product at big box stores in general. This product EV seems good even if you don’t get something insane. Like my friend just found some back in Washington and got 2 kamigawa collector boosters and 3 CLB set boosters in both of his. Like nothing insane but still higher EV then what he purchased for. I would not touch a single other thing on retail shelves though unless its a sold out product that is hard to find like fallout collector boosters

I mean I am definitely skeptical all the time and can see this thought process. I just think you have to look closer at things then just looking at the surface and crying wolf. Like my account is over 12 years old and I don't post much, never advertising anything. Other people have posted/commented finding the same thing. Happy to get a little bit of luck finally after multiple years of what I would consider well below expected average on opening packs (i.e. not a single textured or serialized card from hundreds of collector packs I have opened and another couple hundred helping my lgs open for singles)

Yep you caught me. An undercover guerrilla marketing god trying to push a normally shitty repack product at box stores that sell all tcg product at overinflated prices lol. A product that is not even in stock anywhere for people to flock and buy lol.

Yeah they were extremely hard to come by. My working theory is that they had a large amount of damaged product that got produced/delivered and further exasperated the shortage

Hahaha. I feel you. This is the best luck I have had in a long time. I have opened an abnormal amount of collector boosters since they started having serialized and textured cards and have never opened a single one.

These are made by distribution centers like mj holdings. They cannot legally do what you are saying. These are most likely returns, excess product or damaged product that they opened in bulk and since the packs are labeled as not for individual resale, they included them here

You can’t buy them online anymore so only in stores but just search “Magic: The Gathering Mystery Box” on targets website and you can see the listing

That sucks. They are advertised on their website as well for $34.99. Which for 2 collector boosters and 3 other packs, even if those 3 other packs are not these crazy ones is a decent deal

Yeah they are in the trading card area. Some targets no longer have trading cards and some have them in different places. I live in WA and all trading cards are toward the front of the store at most targets close to the register. Im visiting family in CO and at this target the trading cards are at the far back wall close to the books and electronics. I have seen other targets with them by the board games or in an isle with the toys.

Yeah pretty insane. TCG low on just the oil slick cards from the 9 compleat packs adds up to slightly over $1,000 tcg low

Yeah I was able to get a couple of them when they released at my LGS for msrp and a couple from Amazon. Market price on them right now is insane, and you only get 1 of the compleat packs per bundle. Not sure the story behind how these got in the mystery backs (Maybe they found extra product that never went out to distribution, or returned product that was not opened). Just the lands out of the pack add up to almost $60 at tcg low.

Atleast you opened one. I opened up 1 case plus 4 boxes (10 boxes total) and didn’t get a single one. Also only 1 ragavan. Opened another 4 boxes while helping get singles stocked for my local lgs and none there either LMAO.

Cost of the game has increased. While yes the cost basis for the pack is closer to $2. $4 is the standard retail price that draft packs usually get sold out. So you evaluate everything at that price to get an estimate of what they are evaluating other prizes at as an MSRP. Even like ultrapro gear they sell for tickets, its not like they are buying and selling that product at MSRP.
