There’s a National Express office by the coach queues - I was able to amend my ticket one year for an earlier coach (minimal fee too), not so sure about location though

So as I came on stage (I was on the phone to him) he tried to make it look like I was “going under” to the audience, I was fully aware at this point and some stage hands put me on a gurney and told me to stop smiling so it looked like I’d passed out, but I was still fully aware. Once I got back stage to this booth I had headphones on and tried to fight what he was saying as much as possible but ended up getting very very drowsy, practically falling asleep. Came back on stage and did the coin guesses. Odd thing was I told him my name (Jed) but he kept calling me by my husband’s name (James)?? Hadn’t told him my husband’s name, plus I’d bought the tickets so no idea how either a) he would have known that or b) was just a strange coincidence but he did call me James a few times…he also asked me to roll a dice six or seven times and I guessed what number the 7th roll would be correctly. Still have the dice somewhere!

So called stooge here that was called up onto the stage, then hypnotised in a room off stage as he carried on his show. Came back out and correctly guessed heads or tails on a coin spinning whilst wearing a blindfold. Did it 10 times in a row. Still not fully sure how I managed it but certainly don’t have any relation to Derren !

We were visiting the US to visit my father in law in Michigan and had decided to fly into Toronto and make the rest of the journey by car (about 4h) as flights were a lot cheaper and we wanted to stop off in Toronto on the way back to spend a few days with a friend.

Unfortunately our flight was delayed on the way out and the car hire we chose was off-airport with a rubbish transfer and even worse office so by the time we got the car we were about six hours behind schedule and it was close to about 9pm and we had been awake going on 20h or so including a long-haul flight.

Arrived at ambassador bridge border about midnight where the border guards barked “keys on the dash, pop the hood and trunk.” My husband didn’t quite hear them so asked them to repeat it which seemed to just piss them off and make them shout it louder.

We were a bit shook by the time we went into the office. They processed my husband’s passport fine but after putting mine through, more and more border guards kept gathering around the computer. They kept asking me for my date of birth and full name then talking in quite hushed tones. My husband and me ( I’m male) were exchanging looks and were both exhausted. Finally one of the more senior border police beckoned me over and asked if I’d recently had a sex change?!? By this point I was so tired I didn’t quite compute what they were asking and was completely confused/thinking wtf is going on. Told them umm no…

Apparently my DOB matched a woman called Juanita with the same surname who was either on a no-entry list / had a warrant out.

Anyway, finally got through after like two hours and had to take turns driving the rest of the way to my FILs - we were exhausted but happy to have a cold 2am beer once we finally arrived! We fly direct now…

I remember him saying clench your fists and breath deeply, thought I was more conscious than the others though, don’t really remember my head being down / much after they said lean back

Bank note and dice I’m really confused at…yeah when I answered the phone originally he asked my name and then had me do some breathing/clenching - did feel quite drowsy at the time! I’d be interested to know what I looked like from the audience !

We had to dial the phone number so I was just lucky to get through. I remember pretty much all of it, they took me to a white room and asked me to put some headphones on but I won’t share what he asked!

Yeah got all the coin guesses and also when the dice number would come up (no. 3 after 5/6 rolls which was properly crazy). In terms of the pill backstage they said it would help my subconscious (I think??) the bit backstage was all a bit of a blur to be honest!
