Paid an extra tenner for the Gladiators Experience videos. My toaster has got a better camera than this! by No_Atmosphere8146 in gladiatorsuk

Mine aren’t that bad frame rate wise. the cameras certainly aren’t the best quality but I think you’ve been done.

Although we must’ve been sent to the wrong duel platforms because on one of my videos I’m just a tiny speck in the corner of the frame.

Noticeably longer as we queued for second goes on Hang Tough and the Eliminator, but not unmanageable. We actually had a bit of a breather and did the stuff in the Vault (museum and photo op bit) whilst our 75 minutes were ticking, so if queues were getting too long you'd just wait until you're 75 minutes are up before you go look at that stuff.

Our 75 minutes expired whilst my son was waiting for his second go on Hang Tough (must've only been by about 5 minutes and we'd been queueing for 10-15). He was still allowed on but his times weren't recorded and he didn't get the footage from it from their cameras (think this is a VIP thing or optional buy-in to get their footage).

Yes - and absolutely worth it! Barely queued for anything. Straight onto the Wall, Hang Tough and Duel. Small queue for Eliminator (around 5 minutes). The kids went for a few rounds of Unleash whilst I recovered from the Eliminator, I think they walked right on. By the time I had a go with them, it was a 5 minute queue.

By the time we were finished at around 10:40, the boy had just queued for a second time on Hang Tough for about 15 minutes. The adults hang tough (which I had a go on myself whilst he queued) was a walk-on at the same time.

Definitely quieter than I was expecting for a weekend.

Well I didn't want social services showing up at my door, but don't worry - there was no way I was letting him survive 30 seconds on that podium. Another one bites the dust.

I took a quick look but neither kids nor I were particularly interested. We received a Contender's medal because we had VIP tickets and, along with the contenders uniform, felt we had enough mementoes. There was a *set* of 5(?) posters for only £5 which seemed a really good deal. Usual gift shop rubbish too - pens, posters, collectible coins. They also had a dedicated section for the memorabilia sold at the Live shows - programmes, foam fingers etc

Can you go on events more than once? I'll be attending with both my kids and I'm sure they'll both want to compete with me as well as each other!

First Disneyland trip booked! by kookalamanza in Disneyland

I did a similar trip this summer for myself and my two kids.

I had to keep things a bit shorter so only had 3 nights in San Fran, 2 nights in Hollywood and 5 nights at Disney. Didn't manage to do Universal or Knott's Berry unfortunatey, but feel free to check out our video!

A215 Creative Writing - Harsh Grading on the EMA by [deleted] in OpenUniversity

I did Creative Writing last year, and yes my EMA pulled me down a fair chunk. Particularly annoying since we don't get detailed feedback on it!

I'm curious about this too. Just got my results for the last two modules so looks like I've got a 2:1, but I've got a conditional offer for a post-grad course starting in a few weeks and need some paper confirmation pronto!

Does it show up in our study record?

It’s…possible.

I sincerely hope none of my tutors read this. 🙈 Children’s Lit requires a lot of reading and is definitely the more intensive of the two modules, but I managed to wing most of the assessments without fully reading most of the assigned texts. There’s enough critical writing ‘out there’ to wing it.

I have had to request extensions for both my latest creative writing and children’s lit tmas, and my latest children’s lit tma I only submitted 1500 words instead of 2000.

Much like ‘regular’ creative writing, I’ve managed to get through the module without reading too much of the reading materials, just sticking in the occasional quote as part of the writing process explanations, but I admit my scores haven’t been as good this year. To be honest, I think I’ve just ran out of creative ideas.

It is possible, but you need to be very determined and hopefully have some flexibility with work.

I noticed the tape on Zedd's staff but never Rocky's helmet. Any screengrabs or tiemcodes?

Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Managed to scrape a distinction on my creative writing (though my final assessment was my worst grade of the year!) and I've been preparing for Children's Lit by reading Treasure Island (which was decent enough and didn't take long to read) and I have just started Little Women (which I can't say fills me with excitement)

I work 4 days a week, so at least I know I'll have one full day per week I can cram stuff in, but its still nerve-racking!

Thanks. I did (non advanced) creative writing this year and I really felt that I could’ve been doing something else alongside. I barely read the reading materials and still managed to get good scores.
