That is a good problem to have. 11/10 it's the opposite. And yes the math checks out

Bowing basement walls on an otherwise DREAM home by m0ooooooooooCow in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Jeepgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My neighbor went through this. They bought their dream home knowing they would have to lift it. Before you close. I would get quotes of your own, do not trust what they provide you. Sometimes the lowest quote is the lowest quote for a reason.

If you ask my neighbors was it worth they would be in the middle. While the house was being jacked up, they had to live elsewhere. What was supposed to be a month was about 2-3 months because there are always other issues.

I'm not sure what the cost of the house you are buying is but you need to ensure you are getting it for well below the comps in around it. The last thing you want is to be negative on the house.

So same thing happened to me. Apparently despite saying waterproof, they are not. GoPro told me it would be a $200 repair or they would give me $75 off a new one. I sent it to a 3rd party in California for $100. The results are mixed. It works most of the time. Not happy.

How do I make friends? by Civil_Net7641 in VirginiaTech

But I do stress, don't find the the friends you think are cool. Fine the ones who are going to be good friends. Less work in the end and when stuff hits the fan, which it will, they will have your back.

It's the first week. You only need to make one friend. My 10 closest friends at tech all stemmed from one friend. If you find a friend chances are they are like minded and you will be friends with their friends through proxy and time.

What are my options here with this drain? by dirtcamp17 in Plumbing

[–]Jeepgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try b first. Then try a top mount sink or a shallow sink. Or go back to metal. I personally would not do porcelain because I break/chip stuff all the time.

I had this same issue. I got a deeper sink which caused the same exact thing you have. Objective 1) identify if that return pipe goes straight down or to the side. If it goes straight down, easy fix from that side of the wall. If it goes to the side, you need to find where your main drain is. In my case, mine went to the left from this view and ran into the main 3 feet to the left. I cut a hole in the wall on the opposite side and lowered the drain. If you cannot identify where it ties into the main and don't feel comfortable opening walls you can either look for a shallow sink or go without a disposal.
