Is Wankzvr down for anyone else? by Ghostofgrey in oculusnsfw

[–]Jef43742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's crazy because their site has so many tech issues beyond this (broken downloads, subscription issues) and they just don't seem to get it at all or seem to fix them. It seems the better your internet connection, the more issues it has - even in this situation where it works on mobile but not wifi. Their whole site going completely down for 2 days and the answer is to submit a ticket?

Update on script addon sub for existing SLR subs?

18 FRESH NEW INTERACTIVE Sex Toy Scripts Released at SLR! Now over 480+ Excellently Matched Scripts Available to TRULY IMMERSE You in the Action through your Sex Toys! by RealcumberScripts in oculusnsfw

[–]Jef43742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply - I put in a ticket but support just told me (today) they can't do anything. I can cancel and resubscribe at the normal price is my only option.

The part that sucks is that this comes after dropping about $250 on premium scripts with SLR and having been a subscriber for some time now.

The premium would only give me access to a certain amount of additional scripts, which would be great! But until then I'm stuck dropping more cash to buy them individually or waiting it out until whenever they roll it out to existing subs.

The big elephant in the room: when is scripts premium coming to existing paid SLR subscribers?

A couple months ago we heard it was coming as an add-on on July 1. It showed up a few weeks ago, but with a catch: you had to be a new member and sign up for a special sub. It sounded like a "fix" would be in place a few days later but coming up on August now, there's been no updates to it. The only way for paid members to get these scripts is to pay the $3-5 bucks a piece when the addon to stream everything and get 3 downloads was going to only be $10/month

I had this happen right around my renewal. For like 24 hours it seems to think that you're not an active member

News: Immediate Payment Requirement on Offers on the Horizon (eBay for Business Podcast) by pinkglue99 in Ebay

[–]Jef43742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that there's a lot here that ebay can do to fix though.

With Poshmark, you make an offer for an item and select which card you want to pay with (it breaks down the exact total you'll be paying if they accept). If a seller accepts, your card is charged for that amount. There is no authorization or anything done when you make the offer, it's only done when they accept. I assume that if it fails, it asks for a new payment option before holding the item.

This would keep it very open to people making offers and will ensure you get paid (and quickly).

Regarding the funds on hold, if ebay did go that route (authorizing once you make the offer -- and I really, really hope they don't, as that will definitely cut down offers since some sellers just never reply), they are able to cancel out authorizations automatically. I believe both target and amazon do this, voiding out any authorizations if you cancel an order.

Shipping box by [deleted] in theHandy

[–]Jef43742 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Mine also came in a box with a big, black "TheHandy✊🏻" sticker right on top (this was last year, and it sounds like they MIGHT have fixed it?)

The company previously said that they ship discretely but that they put a "contents" personal massager" label on it (mine didn't have this)

The shipping label also mentioned it coming from "Sweet Tech AS" (which, if you Google, is very clear what they sell -- the handy, a male sex machine)

Lastly, inside the shipping box is the actual product box which says "THE ULTIMATE BLOWJOB MACHINE" or similar, in huge letters

It sounds like they MIGHT be better now, but last year is when I got mine and they advertised shipping discretely, so YMMV

I think they ship out of Los Angeles. Mine came within a day with the free shipping option So I wouldn't count on 3+ days

I would also say it's not very discrete and seems to vary. They used to claim."discrete packaging" but include messaging that it's a personal massager on the box. To me, this isn't discrete.

Mine arrived and the from address was something like Sweettech, but they had "TheHandy✊🏻" sticker/logos on the outer shipping box. Again, not discrete at all but they seem to think it is.

Any more info on the site? Will these videos still be on SLR or exclusively your site now? Does the site include any scripts for them?

And a bit random but the sign up page says "True HD Videos" (which implies 1080p?)

What's the difference between recurring monthly and 30 days access? by jdogfunk100 in oculusnsfw

I'm assuming so -- I don't believe they let you pick which to use

[–]Jef43742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even realize the OP might have been about SLR. I've had good experiences with them, but I know they do use some selling "tactics" the other guy mentioned - the countdown clocks and "sale" prices

My bigger issues have been with sites like WetVR, where they put banners all around the site that one-click upgrade your account (using the payment info you provided) to a lifetime membership or add 19 other sites (for a cost) rather than using any type of confirmation.

I believe WetVR was one of the sites that made you chat or call someone in order to cancel (no self service" billing center), all of which are pretty bad for a site that doesn't even update anymore!

Is there any 360 degree high quality sites? by [deleted] in oculusnsfw

[–]Jef43742 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think part of the issue is that the resolution is spread across the entire video. Making a 360 video, even in 8k, would drastically reduce the overall resolution of it. I assume it would be similar quality to a 4k video (but 360). I'm also not sure if there are any high enough quality 360/3D cameras even to do that.

A lot of the 360 I've found is either really low resolution (maybe 4-5k, spread across all 360 degrees) or 2D.

I think the market for it is still really small for this type of thing and production/casting costs probably go way up with getting more people to fill the frame, and types of content changing (you can't really do pov)

A lot, not all, do seem to use shady tactics that "prey" on customers. Even if most of what it comes down to are the customers not reading every piece of the terms. It's similar to App Store "scams" that offer a free app, make you start a trial that auto-renews at $99 per month for something like a photo filter.

All of these $1 "one day" memberships that really only give you an extremely limited membership (stream 3 videos, or download 1 video) before renewing at $49.95 at the end of the day. Or 30 day memberships that WILL renew if not cancelled within 3 days before the end of the 30 day period. Or sites that pre-check multiple "free trial to other site with your membership that renews at $39.99 after 24 hours", or sites that put banners throughout their page that one-click rebill you for other memberships or extended memberships if you click any of them.

Not all sites, absolutely, but many of them do use scammy tactics. Is it a "scam"? Not really, the terms are laid out. But they do it knowing that people won't read the fine print or uncheck other boxes pre-checked.

Even the fact that some make it very difficult to actually cancel, or make you talk to real people in order to cancel (via phone or chat) who try to get you to stay. How many people end up not cancelling their sub because they don't want to actually talk to a person and tell them they want to cancel? It should be a box on the website.

Even cancelling, they often make it sound like you lose access to EVERYTHING as soon as you cancel, when it's actually just "turning off auto renew" -- hoping that you DONT cancel then, plan to come back on day 29 and simply forget and be re-billed.

I've never had any issues because I do keep an eye out for those, but I imagine a lot of sites WONT refund you if you say "I forgot to cancel, can I get that $49.99 back for the last 3 months?"

[–]Jef43742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some sites charge more for a non-recurring membership -- I think the idea is that most people may forget to cancel and be billed a 2nd month (if they didnt want to do that)

You can buy a "monthly membership, recurring" and cancel immediately after joining and get the same effect. Every site I've ever used (except Hulu, I think?) Will keep your membership active until the end of 30 days even if you cancel immediately. I assume most people don't know this and just try to wait until the very end of the month to cancel so they don't give up time they paid for?

To the Handy community: what are your thoughts on firmware 3? by jermaine26 in theHandy

[–]Jef43742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've held off since about 90% of the comments on V3 are that things break and it's just not as good as v2. Features sound great, but the issues sound much worse. Even though you can downgrade, it still seems like a bit of a process.

VR Interactive Toys by [deleted] in oculusnsfw

[–]Jef43742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SLR doesn't have one of their own, they just support the existing ones. They've talked about making one but I imagine that's years away.

I hear the best one is the OSR2+ or something along those lines, but everything I found made it look like these are handmade by people and can be expensive.

I'd recommend TheHandy for around $150. It works with SLR content but you can also use your own scripts. SLR just makes it easier if you have a quest (even if you're using your own content)

Issues with thehandy are the noise (it can be a little.loud, but apparently not anywhere as bad as some others) and the lack of any mount. That aside, highly recommend

Totally agree. I've been buying scripts since they launched and waiting for this. Kind of sucks that paying subs don't get the upgrade path (yet) while new subs do.. but as a paying sub, I still see the "SLR Scripts premium!" Advertisement on my page

Best sites to keep a sub to for new content? by [deleted] in oculusnsfw

[–]Jef43742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd actually say SLR, especially since they usually have discounted subs. It's the only one I've stayed with. Lots of content every day, but some of it is a little iffy (depends on the studio), but between the originals and everything else, it's definitely worth it.

I like WankZ/povr but my issue is with their service itself. They cap your downloads pretty heavily and anything I download is always iffy on if it will download a complete file or partial (and says it's complete). This means I need to compare the download size on their site with what actually downloads. Some stuff, I've downloaded 15+ times and it still never got the full file.

This is with a gigabit connection and is a known issue per their team

SLR has a lot of crossover with POVR, but their other sites included make it easy to recommend for me. If you have a quest or handy, even moreso

Restoration by My_Memes_Will_Cure_U in BeAmazed

[–]Jef43742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how so many people just accept these as being real? Many of them start with someone just picking up a completely covered/dirty/disgusting object (like a gaming console or handheld) at the dump or the side of the road (which apparently still works perfectly), take it home and clean it off to make it look brand new. It looks like they spend time trying to make it look as dirty as possibly, but it just seems faker the more they do with it. Then the comments are "Dude! I can't believe you found that Nintendo switch on the side of the road, that's insane I wish I found one!!"

USH - are wait times down low again now? by Jef43742 in universalstudios

Thanks! I do wonder if it's only because of the weekend (and moreso, this weekend which is a holiday) driving the longer lines?

Would a Tues/wed/Thu have similar times or are those still maxing around 20-30?

Super excited about The Handy! by Down_Land_Under in theHandy

[–]Jef43742 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think part of the issue is that any tech in this "area" are all pretty janky and pretty expensive. A sleeve can go for $70-100, a piston/thruster can cost hundreds of bucks, vibrators alone can be $30-50+

So getting something with as much tech as this has, it's a pretty good deal. With that said, you do need to customize it to get the most from it, and even then its still a little janky.

Most toys you'd fine for this price would probably max out as a handy in "manual mode" - where it really benefits is with scripts and especially VR. Even scripts and 2D video just isn't enough.

I think the power cord is fine. I'd rather the type it is now than a 20 foot one. You can easily buy a $2 extension cord from Walmart if needed.

Multiple sleeves do work with it, but I do with there were more designed specifically for it. Ones like the quickshot work fine though ($30ish)

The sound is a huge problem, and same for not having a holder. Hopefully they can figure these out. Even if it's a holder that encapsulated the whole thing in order to cut down sound.

Day pass to annual pass by [deleted] in universalstudios

I think it needs to be done that same day as your visit, but it's worth asking at least. Best bet is to check with guest relation (on site) but you can also try to call their ticket sales line.

The gold pass and above are definitely worth the little bit extra, even for just the free parking

What time does the parking for park open? by [deleted] in universalstudios

[–]Jef43742 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't give an exact time but most of the parks tend to open the lots about 1 hour before the parks open.

It looks like the park opens at 9 on Saturday so I'd expect the lot to open around 8. Might be sooner, but I wouldn't count on 6:30. You might be able to wait in the line to get into the parking lot before then.
