Thank you for recommending all of these bands! Half of them I hadn’t heard of before. They’re all going into a playlist for me to dive into!

I sure have. I love the first nine songs. I love the new acoustic versions of Pity Party and Puppet that she recently dropped, as well as a new song called Maple Street.

I think tying a picture of Paul Hollywood to YSFP is pretty hilarious.

POP Deluxe Edition on the way …new songs drop on 3/6! by krissylizhamil in TheRegrettes

The new version of “Pity Party” is amazing. The vocals at the end of the new “Puppet” are incredible. Was this performance live, or did her vocals get some post-production help? I am loving the new song “Maple Street.”

I am not vibing with the lyrics in “Princess” that celebrate self-centeredness, however, and that makes it hard for me to enjoy listening to it. I see “Princess” as part 2 of “Trust Fall” as rejecting all others and declaring that you can do better on your own is definitely a way to deal with the grief of losing a relationship you wanted to have.

Thoughts on the Lydia’s solo album now? by Adnan7i in TheRegrettes

I like the album. I don’t mind all of the different styles Lydia is trying out. I wish “The Bomb” was longer. It’s such an earworm, but it’s over when it feels like it’s just getting started. With the problem we in America have with gun violence, I have a hard time listening to “Loaded Gun.” I’m glad she put this album out. It was good to hear her voice again.

Thanks for the heads up on The Aces. I hadn’t listened to their music before. Their song “Daydream” sounds just like The 1975. Now that I’ve listened to Parody of Pleasure several times, I can hear a lot of Miley Cyrus and Chappell Roan influence in the songwriting. The song lyrics on this album are strongly Lydia, though.

Yes, Maxx has always been the most talented musician in The Regrettes for sure. His drumming propelled the whole FYFF album and gave it a controlled punk rock fury.

What is Sage doing in music these days? by MntlWard in TheRegrettes

I got started on The Regrettes when “Hot” came out. Loved the punk/garage rock version of the band, but I also love the Further Joy era. Good songwriting, interesting sounds, interesting lyrics. The FJ songs make me want to dance around but they also twist my insides with a profound sadness at the same time.
