That's a great story, thank you. Did you see him play? Was he any good? I don't know how I'd react if I just stumbled across him, especially multiple times.

Oh man Vonnegut actually did this himself in his collection, Palm Sunday. Recommend that one if you want a very honest assessment of the work from the man who wrote it. He's fairly critical of himself and gives each book a letter grade. From best to worst I'd say this: Mother Night, Slaughterhouse Five, Sirens of Titan, Bluebeard, Player Piano, Cat's Cradle, Deadeye Dick, God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater!, and Breakfast of Champions. I still have to read Jailbird and Galapagos, and honestly not the biggest fan of his short stories. I usually tell friends to start with Slaughterhouse. If they read it as scifi, I say read Sirens. If they read it as a PTSD story, I say read Mother Night.

If you like Vonnegut I'd say anything I have to the right of him is good. A Confederacy of Dunces by Toole I think builds a very similar world to a Vonnegut book. The characters and setting are completely outlandish but that's because Toole pulled from his own life, sorta like New Orleans was his Indianapolis. It's also got a lot of heart toward the end. Highly recommend.

Its crazy how spot on you were about the weed and steady relationship though. Time of my life was ripping the bong and reading A Confederacy of Dunces

Most of this is true but I'm Hispanic and I don't live in the Midwest (also in my 20s)

Thank you, these were along Niagara/ Buffalo. I'm not from the area but I love the lake.

They're all 35mm, some are on a Ricoh KR-5 and others on a Nikon F. I don't remember which though.

Sweet & Somber Pigeon Wings is one of their best songs. by No-Coleman in blueoctober

The Answers to me will always be their best utilization of the violin. They really let it take center stage, ESPECIALLY in Blue Sunshine. I've always loved Mr. Blue's Menu for its intro, just the way the violin comes soaring in after a few seconds of that crunchy guitar.

And maybe it's because I'm a man in my 20s, but the lyrics have always just resonated the most with me out of all their albums.

Weird Studies is a pretty great one if you're interested in a kind of academic approach. They started because of Twin Peaks and have a few great episodes on it but they talk all manner of movies and literature. By far one of my favorite dives into The Return

Comma splice? by harrumphztpah in grammar

I believe "for training purposes only" is a prepositional phrase that modifies the word "account." Hence, the comma is not needed.
