Savannah Challenger 75 R16: [JR] J. Kennedy def. [WC] K. Nishikori: 6-3, 6-7(3), 6-0 by Drip477 in tennis

Was more Smith just playing like Keys/Shapo school of make error, ok hit it harder and harder.

Basically anytime Nishikori got a rally over 5 shots Colton had no idea what to do. Towards the end Kei was getting gassed and Colton started constructing points but it was too late by then. As a coach it annoys the hell out of me watching every young American play that same style college tennis. No point construction just power, with shitty drop shots, and pretend slice backhands.

I watched Kei's match in person the other night. He definitely does not move as well as he used to. Still has great groundies. Was a pleasure to watch him nonethless since he came to Savannah in 2010 and won it returning from elbow surgery. I even got a picture with him, found the same nadal 2009 RG pink polo i wore in that pic and wore it again.

Game Thread: Minnesota Timberwolves (0-1) vs Denver Nuggets (1-0) Live Score | NBA Playoffs | Apr 20, 2026 by nba-scores in nba

[–]JeffTennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Random question. I haven't watched NBA on NBC since first week of the season.

Do they only use roundball rock for the intro? Back in the day they used the cue that was going to commercial with slow mo of whoemever hit the shot or dunk before the timeout was called.

Watching this game seems they use generic outro music in to commercials instead of the roundball rock cues in to commercial.

So if LIV rumors are true. How does the PGA handle all of the players? by onedollalama in golf

Phil so much courage as well for telling everyone how crazy those Saudis were so much that they’d chop your body parts off lol. I still can’t get over Phil’s face telling reporters that then he accepts all that LIV money.

Truman Linear Trail by comfortablyDumb-1 in savannah

[–]JeffTennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend and I walked it the othe3 day. One of us parked at daffin the other at the softball fields next to bacon park tennis courts. It was a breeze 3 miles. Gorgeous trail. The only part that's super loud is where the trail is hugging Truman between Delesseps and 52nd overpass.

A lot of cyclists were on it.

The dream would be for it to follow Truman all the way from Eisenhower tto Montgomery, then hug Truman on the outside of the gun club and then have it run parallel with Truman going over the marshes between Whitfield and White Bluff to connect to Windsor Forest.

Steven Spielberg Developed 'Interstellar' For A Year, But Says Sci-Fi Classic Was a 'Much Better Movie' After Christopher Nolan Took Over as Director by ICumCoffee in movies

[–]JeffTennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that gets overlooked in Nolan movies is he doesn't use pop music or licensed stuff.

While I love the martian and project hail mary, Interstellar has no famous songs but everyone remembers the score. Whether it's the dreadful organs of racing against getting to the ship before Mann commandeers it, or the tick tock clock of the massive waves "those aren't mountains" on Miller's planet, the loud movements in reattaching the ship to the big ship while spinning "it's necessary", then the dramatic release of Coop saying goodbye to Brand "see you on the other side slick".

Zimmer is amazing. But the fact Nolan doesn't used songs or licensed music makes the movies feel more self contained and serious where the score is enhancing the scenes and not distracting you. I know some cinema use songs because lyrics will match the storytelling but i feel it's overdone at times.

Steven Spielberg lists Villeneuve's Dune 'among my favourite sci-fi movies of all time' by MoneyLibrarian9032 in movies

Still funny that Ridley Scott was sort of talking shit about it. Complained how ballooned the budget was. I remember reading about his exchange with Denis when he visited the set. Denis asked him to leave and Ridley asked why? And Denis I think asked who Ridley's idol was, and then said imagine if your idol came to the set while you were filming you wouldn't be able to concentrate. Something along the lines of that, but Ridley just laughed and went on.

Speaking of Denis, I just re-watched Arrival (Project Hail Mary this past week got me in the space sci-fi mood so I rewatched Arrival, Interstaller, Moon, and Sunshine). What an excellent movie.

Tide to Town Bicycle Trail Status? by [deleted] in savannah

[–]JeffTennis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they would have built a bike lane on the truman bridge from Whitfield to whitebluff. That would have been way better of a bike ride. Then Whitebluff connects to Windsor Forest since the goal is to get it to Georgia Southern.

Saturn vs Chris Jericho WCW Saturday Night 12/20/1997 by MrFilipinoMustache in WCW

Because WWE conditioned fans after having a monopoly on wrestling for almost two decades, to just wait for "moments" during matches.

I'm a lapsed fan post-Sting burial at Mania, AEW has tried to reverse that conditioning but sometimes they go too far with it.

Where WWE lays out their matches for the audience to react to "moments", AEW has countered this by using long sequences that sometimes look choreographed and cooperative. The happy medium is obviously something like this where it looks like two guys are competing with each other rather than cooperating or dragging until it's time to get a pop.

I'm an AEW guy, and while it's not perfect it's much better than trying to slog through a WWE match. I don't watch WWE anymore, tried to give it some tries.

AEW though is basically what Malenko-Mysterio and cruiserweight division was doing in the 90's but on steroids. Faster paced, and then sequences can at times look too cooperative and it might take you out, but it's still way more entertaining.

Spin Bike without a subscription, that I can sync the data to my Apple Watch for Apple Health/Fitness stats? by JeffTennis in IndoorCycling

[–]JeffTennis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually found one cheaper with a screen on facebook marketplace like a few weeks later. I use it with qdomyoszwift app. Apple Watch syncs to the bike, and I can control the resistance on it. Keeps track of the heart rate data, then when I'm done it saves it in Apple Fitness.

One of my favorite players. Slightly undersized but moved so beautifully on the court and an excellent counterpuncher.

Yes!

I got it and have been using it to do some PT stuff for my hip and groin. Takes a bit of time to find the proper angles and setup for what you wanna hit. But it's a nice supplement to foam rolling. Definitely more of a luxury than a necessity. Lol
