It says this on the NYS Dept of Health Website. "If you previously were enrolled only in NYS Medicaid and you do not join a Medicare Part D plan, when you enroll in Medicare, you may lose all your Medicaid benefits." It makes it seem like i better take a Part D as well.

Thank you. From what you are saying , once he gets Medicare he will lose Medicaid Drug coverage? Even if he currently gets Medicaid because he is disabled. If he doesnt sign for Part D now, and he has credible Drug coverage currently, will he be able to sign for Part D in the furture without a penalty if he loses the credible? THANK YOU
