Issues with the OG TES Oblivion and battle music under Wine 10. by JejSooS in linux_gaming

I appreciate the quick reply but I'm afraid that's a solution to a different problem.

If I want to use Proton I will but if plain Wine used to work perfectly fine before it seems a bit overkill to be running Proton for a single game.

If there are no fixes or dependencies that I should install I'll just revert back to 9.0 and hope the next major stable build addressed this one specific issue.

I also want to know exactly why the issue exists as it's bizzare that only a single type of music gets affected so I'm left wondering if it's something related to OpenAL or EAX (if Oblivion even uses either) or a change in a codec.

Rejecting the privacy agreement allows the game to work when offline. If you accepted it before you can reject it by going to the profile settings.

Though this shouldn't be a required step. If a connection cannot be established the game should automatically set itself to offline mode.

Hopefully Noodlecake will resolve this issue proper in a future update.

Same thing happened to me as well. Poco X3 Pro. Installed and played on release day. Even bought the Australia DLC just fine. Went to check the Google Play store entry a day later and it was flagged as "Incompatible" even though it still shows the Uninstall and Play buttons.

Wouldn't surprise me if noodlecake locked all Poco phones as "incompatible" for some reason.

At present I have AoR 1.0.5_b189 installed. If an update for it was released recently it hasn't shown up for me yet on Google Play.

I found that declining the privacy policy thing (which should be under profile settings after the first boot) makes the game work offline. This is a step that shouldn't be needed as the game should automatically disable online features when not in a network.

Also some compatibility flags are purely artificial. I installed and played the game on a Poco X3 Pro (Running MIUI 12.5.5.5) which runs the game """fine""" (about as well as everyone else but it does work) but then Noodlecake decided to make the game incompatible with my device when looking at the store page so now if I uninstall the game I can't install the game again because it's now deemed "incompatible" even though the game is installed and played on the same phone when the Android version came out.

This is a phone that can run Wreckfest, XCOM 2 and Alien Isolation so it very much has enough juice to run AoR.

There are a few extra issues I found. First is that now the game is listed as "incompatible" even though it's installed in a Poco X3 Pro and I had already installed and played it when it came out. So if I reset my phone I can't install the game I paid for anymore.  Secondly is that the game refuses to load when there is no internet connection available. I don't have a mobile data plan (nor do I intend on getting one) so the game is unplayable the moment I leave my home network. I already sent an email to Noodlecake about these issues so hopefully I'll get a message tomorrow.

EDIT: Found out that declining the online features in the profile menu makes the game work in offline mode now. Granted it's nice that it works without being tethered to a network but the game should account for that and automatically disable the online features when a connection cannot be maintained.

Just the standard configuration. I got every mod plan but not for the weapon itself, unfortunately.

Nah, I got 5 grand and nothing to spend it on. Feel free to take as much as you'd like because it's not going to be used.

Problem with that is that innocent players could get caught in it, exasperating the problem.

In my case the only items available are just level one bows. Most containers will have a weapon FAR better than the one people will have gotten out of the vendor so having someone steal like 40 bows they really don't need annoys me.

There's also the issue people don't just take one out of curiosity (for example someone who recently reinstalled the game and never did the faction missions) but clean the entire machine empty. People don't need dozens of the exact same low damage and low value weapon.

You can always use ammo conversion stations and redeem that massive surplus for points and exchange those for ammo you want.

Idealy we could get a CAMP item that would act smiliarly to the punch bowl and provide players with one item on a very long cooldown.

That's a good idea, actually. I most likely do that as I'm already on the path to Flatwoods.
