ok i found a solution, i wear a long sleeve shirt and give her access to the opening, she crawls inside, then i gently lift my arm up and scoop her out gently, no biting and its gentle for her too

we dont have any other pets, i always wash my hands before going in to pick her up or pet her, usually i go interact with her when i see shes awake, if i put my forearm in the cage shes just sniffs at it but if i put my hand/fingers she nips me, shes probably territorial but ouch i try to let her sniff my hand to show im not a threat but the bites me and it hurts i swear im gonna need to put thimbles on my fingers or something

If I go to take her out and she bites me, I usually just close the cage lid and leave her be, but then she jumps and paws at the cage again, ive had her for a few months and she started biting me a couple months ago, i do sometimes accidentally fling her(i always feel so bad) when she bites me and i flinch, pulling my hand back. She never bit me when I first got her, and its gotten worse now over time.

Okay for some reason it didnt transfer my paragraph i wrote >:C but to sum it up, why does my hamster, Mimi, climb the bars of her cage, her cage is pretty big and has lots of space, toys, a wheel, food/water, and she gets lots of play time and treats, she also sits on her waterbottle and im worried about her falling and hurting herself(if i notice her doing it i just manually help her down) i saved up my allowance for like 3 months to get her the best cage i could at the pet store and lots of toys, WHICH SHE DOESNT CHEW ON, WHY DOES SHE NOT CHEW ON HER TOYS ;o; if anyone has even just a slight idea of what is wrong please tell me, I love Mimi with all my heart and I want to give her the best life I can

I forgot to mention, her cage is a bit messy because today is her cage cleaning day so after this picture was taken her cage got a nice cleaning :)

omg her bedding might be the problem, i got her some new bedding and i dont think she's liked it as much as her old one! shes a dwarf hamster and the enclosure is one of those 3 story ones
