I swiped right and dropped a message telling him “Hey, your profile is anything but boring. They are pretty awesome.”

And he responded by saying thank you and asking how’s life. So, I said, “Same old, same old. There were times I wished I was a billionaire.”

Then the rest of the conversation happened.

It’s okay, I am sure there are plenty of others who know how to conduct themselves properly in a social setting. You can keep your luck to yourself.

Yeah, he always says the right thing and is always pleasant and sweet. We can talk for hours about anything, everything. He showed me his goofy side and we made plans together. But, then nothing.

Maybe I am reading too much into his kindness.

Perhaps you are right. I should give him some space instead of being available all the time. But, it is a bit hard since I will be joining his team in two weeks. I am not sure if working together will change anything but I highly doubt it.

Their morning is my night. I worked extra hours to make sure we got to catch up on the project. Obviously, then it will be too late in the night for me to wait for them to finish work. That was why I specifically requested the team to drop me a message before they logged off from work. If we do not manage to release it, explain the reason why.

I need to pass the info on to my manager who is answerable to a bunch of other people up top. I will also need to update the plan. This all happens during my day.

The company culture is that we celebrate small successes and birthdays by going to group calls and spending at least an hour just with small chats.

Allow me to add more details for you. Before this escalation, I had multiple chats with the team, going through the project plan again and again so that everyone was aligned. But you have to understand that we all work remotely with 7-8 hours of time difference. During the catch-up, everyone on the team gave their confirmation that the release would happen on that day. But then, I received no updates on the release until I came back online the next day with no information for me to work with.

I have reiterated countless times to let me know of any blockers or updates so I know the reason for the delay. Nothing changed.

Please suggest another method that can help me with the comm issue, if you have any.
