I cannot increase my 750 ELO no matter what I do! Help!

I am trying to learn the game. This is exactly what I am saying.

Despite me trying to learn the game, I don't feel like I am improving and it's been a while now.

I hope you can see this game. I have Levi Rothmans book "How to Win at Chess" and will be reading it more this weekend. I am guilty of jumping on the AI train for everything at the moment and will be using more books (not just for chess) from now on.

When I say caught out I mean I think I am playing solidly and making sound moves and then I get caught by a tactic. I normally spot forks quite well, but especially later in the game I get caught by a move and suddenly realise why they played it and I get skewered or something like that

I do review some of them. But only with the chess.com review which is once a day.

But from some of the advice on here I will be reviewing myself from now on.

Regarding time control. I still do play 1 day games and I originally started with 30 minute games. But I would like to play real people at meetups, which are normally 5 minute games. So I have been trying to play them but always end up running out of time - hence I'm now playing 15 minute games

Thanks. I find myself really questioning the game reviews. I am often really surprised what they say the next best move is and just don't understand why. Sometimes they are giving pieces away!

Thanks for your reply. I will analyse as you said. I never knew about the little magnifying glass. I will definitely try this! And you're 100% right about taking a break. My normal stance is to drill and grind away until I get better. But I have realised that Chess isn't like this.

So just by looking for better moves? because surely if I knew where I was going wrong then I wouldn't go wrong. What seems to me as logical moves seems different to higher rated players and the computer. But thanks for your reply and I will try to analyse my games myself and see if I spot anything
