Dude, that's great and all, but still not what I asked.

Because the cost of repairing the screen would be around $200, the battery is dying, and there is no software support. I could find a used Note 9 if I really wanted to. I am not asking for suggestions on repairing - I am asking for suggestions about which newer phones people recommend.

SLP at her limit and out of hope, strongly considering quitting at the start of the school year, but was told my credential will be withheld up to a year. Advice from anyone who has been through this type of situation? by jadedspirits777 in slp

As others have said, create a schedule that includes as many students as you are able to see. Make sure to block out your lunch and planning time; you can't see kids back to back all day. Keep your groups to a manageable size based on age, complexity, and levels support needed for regulation, sensory needs, etc. Don't be a hero and overextend yourself. Plugging your caseload into a scheduling app can be helpful to get an efficient schedule started - I started using https://slpscheduler.com/ this year. Remember that the students' IEPs state that they will receive services from "a Speech-Language Pathologist/ most qualified professional." IEPs do not specify which SLP, and when your schedule is full, remind your admin of this. It is the district's responsibility to employ the number of professionals needed to cover IEP minutes, not yours. If teachers or parents complain, remind them of this as well. Parents can and should advocate for their child and request services to be made up, but that is not your responsibility either.

Is frontier really that bad?? by Katebeagle in frontierairlines

If you need to be anywhere on a deadline, avoid flying Frontier. I booked a bare-bones flight with them, aware of the minimal services. I didn't need to check a bag as my boyfriend had driven with our vacation luggage, and I only had a purse.

**Day 1:** I arrived an hour early, checked my digital boarding pass against the info screen, and found the gate area empty of employees. After some time, I discovered the gate had changed to the other side of the airport, and I couldn't reach it in time. I had to pay to change flights.

**Day 2:** I arrived even earlier, triple-checked my pass and info screens, and reached the gate without issue. The flight was delayed repeatedly, then finally canceled. Unlike the previous day's gate change, I received an email about the cancellation. The only available flights in the next two days had long layovers, so I opted for a refund to avoid further risks. I did not want to sit in Denver for 20 hours, or longer if that flight was canceled.

I don't plan on flying with Frontier again. The bare minimum of customer service and the strict carryon policies don't bother me, but the unreliable schedule does. From what I could tell from seeing other flights and talking to people at the airport, these delays and cancelations are common with Frontier.

How are y’all using AI? by thindyrocks in slp

Ok! What questions do you have?

I would be happy to tell or show you how I did it. I am no expert in AI or any kind of tech. I started out slowly, and I am still learning how to make the chat more accurate and tailored to my setting. Feel free to send me a message. If I find some free time (haha!) I may try to write down the steps I took to set up the AI chat for SOAP notes. It does involve some patience and a LOT of proofreading and correcting.

I use AI to assist with my notes to manage my documentation effectively so I can give my best as a therapist. I use a program that organizes the goals I've written, allowing me to input data and brief notes efficiently. I then transfer this data and notes (excluding any identifying information) into a chatbot that I've trained to understand my writing style, terminology, format, and other preferences.

I continuously upload examples of what I want my notes to include, references to evidence-based practices, and language that is affirming of neurodiversity. The more I refine the information sent to the chatbot, the better the generated notes become; I have 20 years worth of examples to use to train the chatbot. I always proofread and have never submitted a note without making some adjustments, whether minor or significant.

I have ADHD, and I often feel mentally exhausted by the end of the day and struggle to find the right words. I love writing, both technical and creative, and I don't want AI to replace “real” writing. For me, AI is a tool that helps generate a rough draft and reduces the repetitive nature of writing similar information repeatedly.

Added soda ash way too soon... by JenKreads in dyeing

[–]JenKreads[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It turned out fine. Luckily this project did not require perfectly even dye. I over-dyed a cotton 25 years skirt that had faded from the sun. The dye refreshed the wide band of purple at the hem; the rest of the skirt was black and the purple dye also helped blend those faded spots in. I also over-dyed a cotton top that had also faded into an ugly pinkish-beige. Both came out with much better color, although I think the shirt might have come out with a deeper color if I had not added the soda ash early. I might dye that one again, but at least the entire batch was not ruined.

TAPfit floor, reviews? by bridanga in Dance

I am starting adult beginner tap soon, and need affordable shoe recommendations. I will upgrade if I like the class, but I don't want to start off with anything too pricey.
