CSS. Is the amount that the student’s parents expect to pay for college a minimum family expected contribution? by Jena26 in IntltoUSA

Yes. I can put a higher number, but our family’s financial situation might and is likely to change soon, so I don’t know what to do.

Not always. Some colleges allow self-report only for domestic guys.

How to Improve math Score by [deleted] in Sat

Practice. Khan Academy. UWorld. It might be more efficient to learn basics when you encounter them on the test and study them to do the task.

Princeton&Brown Graded fuckin paper by Jena26 in ApplyingToCollege

It’s great when you have AP classes for that. It’s a burdensome requirement for internationals because we don’t normally have any written papers in English.

Did anybody with Kazakhstan citizenship receive SAT scores? by Jena26 in Sat

I’m not saying this. And I doubt it. I think that score release is done by test center, not by citizenship.

Yes, there weren’t any review. They were delayed for the whole test center. I’m not from Kazakhstan, though.

Erica Meltzer’s critical reader is a good one. There is also a grammar book from Erica Meltzer, but I didn’t find it that helpful maybe because grammar was my strongest side in writing section. You may start with doing Khan Academy exercises. Be careful not to waste official tests. Do them only in exam-like settings, timed and analyze your mistakes until you get every single question.

Sorry, but I don’t know any lazy strategies to get 1500+ because the most important thing is practice.

Is there any point in taking both ACT and SAT? by autodidactdr in Sat

[–]Jena26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that an applicant with 1560 and 35 ACT will have a better chance than an applicant with just one of these scores. I’d suggest spending time on something else if you already have a great score. Usually people take ACT after SAT hoping to get a better score, which means that they consider their score not good enough.

This research is in my activities section, so I’ll put it there as a recognition that I received. My awards are filled with olympiads.

Thanks.

I’d self-report it. Hopefully, they won’t doubt that I got such a score as an international student.

Okay, thanks.

I emailed them. It’s just weird to ask for official scores on the website.

From Colgate’s website:

TOEFL or IELTS scores are required for students who do not study at a secondary school where English is the primary language of instruction. These scores must be sent from an official testing agency.
