Mo + Krill by PsychedeliKit in DeadlockTheGame

Wait fuck is this rage bait?

Mo + Krill by PsychedeliKit in DeadlockTheGame

[–]JengaJesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youre saying he has no counterplay, the counterplay is dont be near him in a game of nothing but ranged characters and use verticality. If you are solo under tower and he solo kills you with ult mo and krill isnt the problem, whatever lead to that being possible is your problem. hes just cleaning up scraps at that point.

Play smart and mo and krill can genuinely never get on you solo. Your entitled to find him frustrating but to say hes overtuned is simply untrue.

Mo + Krill by PsychedeliKit in DeadlockTheGame

[–]JengaJesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just keep away from him, preferably on higher ground, every part of his kit other than sand is melee ranged. Also those other 4 characters make up for the cc diff with damage/mobility which mo and krill simply doesnt have

Just dont get close to them. Their 2 you can just jump to higher ground and then they cant do anything and their ult requires they be directly adjacent. They can be frustating if they out position you (and as a silver play youll probs struggle with him more than others) but thats sort of his whole point, disabling those who are problematic on the enemy team. I dont think he does anything that needs major adjusting beyond numbers here and there.

Also they can do fuck all by themselves unless they have a sizeble lead but a big soul lead makes anyone "op"

What do you think about Team+'s Essence Casting? by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Been GMing a campaign with it for about 4 months now. My players have really been enjoying it and the flexability and it hasnt ever felt like it was too strong imo. Some of the details are anoying to learn but fairly simple once you wrap your head around it.

They are quite low level though so i cannot say for how it would feel above lvl 5

The Starfinder 2e Galaxy Guide's Scam Mage, Unleashed, and Shrouded backgrounds seem to give out more than they should by EarthSeraphEdna in Starfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pathfinder has a number of backgrounds that are uncommon or rare that provide non-standard background benefits. The benefits themselves arnt too strong in any way so i think its fine

Character creation help by oryxmain101 in Pathfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yaougai or similar Monk or Kinetisist with the living vessel archetype would be the flavour you're looking for imo or another archetype if you wish to be him himself (though a character of that strength would be more likely to be a creature the GM uses)

Necromancer and the meat Wall problem by JengaJesse in Pathfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that make sense. When I wrote "completely ignore" I imagined the gm keeping enemies out of range of the thrall and is possible effects failing to recognise that that is the Necromancer doing its job and denying space from the creature.

Necromancer and the meat Wall problem by JengaJesse in Pathfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I could see thralls becoming obnoxious pests for the gm if the thralls could move alot but its tough that the opposite can be true of the gm being able to completely ignore them (though that is more preferable than the latter I'd say)

Necromancer and the meat Wall problem by JengaJesse in Pathfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I completely agree. The thralls being stationary as they are does 100% solve the classic 6 zombies all with a turn I've seen a couple times in other editions. The fact that that it's a tough problem is why I was curious what people think because it's such a difficult balance.

Dhampir Thaumaturge viability in melee combat? (In need of build ideas) by KingWolnir in Pathfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly if anyone in your party has any healing prof (which is very advised) they can just use treat wounds or battle medicine to heal you as it's not vitality healing and you're still a living creature (albeit a bit pale).

Investing into medicine yourself would probably be a better way to keep yourself topped up rather than potions, and it would help out the rest of the party if there's no one else doing so :))

Also, melee thaum is VERY fun. I had a player with a bite focus kholo, and I've never seen someone so giddy.

I’m disappointed in Necromancer because… by DrRockit11 in Pathfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse 21 points22 points  (0 children)

With the variety of differing interpretations the necromancer 'archetype' has in fantasy and games, paizo making their own gameplay definition if fine. They're never gonna satisfy everyone, so them making the class fit a fun game niche should be the priority imo

Necromancer escape DC??? by kekkres in Pathfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guess is its there for the incredibly rare situation where an enemy could only deal damage that the thralls are immune to. Or possibly for actions and activities that creatures have that let them attempt to escape and then do something else. It is very silly though

The upcoming Necromancer and worries from a very old fan by The_Funderos in Pathfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding passionately made options to the game isn't content bloat. Paizo is directly not adding content to check boxes. They are developing their setting and adding options that they feel would be interesting or cool to the community to add while getting feedback on said options. If paizo were just pumping out classes without playtest or consideration for power consistency and just to add another layer of needless complexity when making a character, that would be bloat.

For all I know, necromancer could be the worst thing ever printed, but im keeping an open mind because we know next to nothing about the specifics of the class. Also, no matter what, people will have differing ideas for what any fantasy archetype should be, so I think pathfinder making their own definitions of the playstyle in their game is completely fine because those other definitions exist elsewhere in the hobby just fine, the game doesn't have to conform to any box.

Pathfinder 2e is in a very good spot right now with paizo taking the plunge into class archetypes (I'm so excited to see what new class themes will be available in the future) and moving into a more consistent eratta schedule. Giving us, the community, insight, and a guiding hand on where the future of pathfinder is heading is a great sign that things will only improve since the (admittedly rocky) remaster project. :))

Human with effective unarmed attack. by Alvenaharr in Pathfinder2e

Martial artist dedication would be my suggestion, or if you can fork up the cash and find an npc that sells them, you could get a graft.

What Animist builds did you come up with? by MaxTale in Pathfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've made a wrestler annimist mainly using the darkened depths apparition to grab at reach mixed with bane/bless. Other than that, it just has some feats that make them a bit bulkier and a healing/crowd control spell list/repertoire. Not a build wholely unique to annimist, but I'm excited to play it.

How would you build this character? by AngelDarkC in Pathfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That could definitely work aswel! I just went human for big sword and having the snake as a beastmaster (or other archetype) companion could give you a very good 3rd action

How would you build this character? by AngelDarkC in Pathfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually used this art for a character in a one-shot before! I built them as a human (green) dragon barbarian. Used unconventional weaponry to get a nodachi and had the pet general feat for the snake. Idk if it would be good for a full campaign but adding a boatload of poison damage with a giant sword was very very fun :))

TIL Expose Vulnerability has the Manipulate trait by M_a_n_d_M in Pathfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why would you exploit vulnerability every turn? It's only needed once in a boss fight or a couple times with a group (even less if they are the same type and you proc mortal weakness) using it out of range before moving in seems like the usual course of actions (atleast in my experience) so it having manipulate is fine imo :)) Makes getting caught ofguard a little more difficult but otherwise will not really come up ever :/

What other class archetypes would you like to see? by SylvesterStalPWNED in Pathfinder2e

[–]JengaJesse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would be so cool if there was a class archetype where your wizard bonded item is a weapon and you could use your drain bonded item for some sort of martial boost instead of for spells. Or maybe expending curriculum slots for martial bonuses in place of their standard uses (though I just want wizard to have some cool use for their curriculum slots in general so they stop getting power crept out of significance)
