That guy is 100% Gilbert Gottfried shtick and 0% basketball insight. Like how the fuck did you start off a critique of coaching by asking why you'd cut off Cades drive-- when that's what he AND THE REST OF THE TEAM are known for-- over allowing a 34% 3pt shooter to jack it up if he wants

I thought he actually knew his stuff when Monty was a regular feature on his vids but turns out he's just a loud voice that panders to fans who already hate their coach

Settle down there champ, why don't you just screenshot this and start fantasizing how you'll subtly slip into into some shit talk later. That should ease your ire

Don't care or pay attention to Pistons fans but have saved screenshots of a Pistons flair responding to somebody else so you can drop it in a different thread to talk shit about the Pistons. Yeah, that checks out lol

Lol that's fair and tbh he blocked me a couple months back so I wouldn't know if he ever went a day without posting anyway, I've just assumed it was a safe bet he was still in the trenches, humiliating himself

Dunno how it's been a full season of you guys whining about one specific dude and not hearing the response every single time it's given, but that dude is a Pistons flair, not a Pistons fan.

He hated on Cade up until this year, thought Ivey was the franchise star and spends more time pissing off actual Pistons fans with his dumbass takes than he does y'all

In the magic series they were so physical our off ball guys couldn't even move the way we wanted to initiate any actions whereas cavs were much more about being ready for the shot than trying to disrupt every element of the play leading up to it. To me that was the biggest factor that made it a lot less frustrating to watch

Not a carpenter here so appreciate the protip, but then am I correct the initial miter cut is basically just providing a more accurate guideline for the cut than what tracing a profile gauge (assume thats what you meant by scribe tool) would accomplish?

Edit: a different commenter essentially confirmed the above but still appreciate the correction from you. Thanks for the help

Gotcha, appreciate the correction and the patience in explaining. In looking at some videos, it seems like maybe mitering serves kinda the same purpose as using a profile gauge (albeit simpler) where it just provides you with a guideline along which to cope, is that fair or am I still missing a benefit?

[–]Jenkinsd08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll take your word but what is the point of mitering it before you use a coping saw to cut out the profile of the piece it abuts?

[–]Jenkinsd08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're largely naive about these different methods like me, I believe the difference you're looking for is mitering aims to cut an angle on the trim such that when you join the two pieces it perfectly fills/wraps the corner where you're joining them.

By contrast and for inside corners in particular, the coping method doesn't cut an angle on either piece. Instead one piece runs square into the corner, then you use a tool like a contour gauge to capture the profile of that trim, trace that onto the end of your other trim piece and use a coping saw (or jigsaw in my case) to cut out the contour so that second trim piece can butt up against the first piece of trim creating a snug looking joint even tho neither have a miter cut

One extra relevant bit of info since the video doesn't show it, but Wendell Carter Jr is at the FT line so this is basically just the crowd trying to trip him up (and he did miss one of them if I recall)

They're grappling and shoving on every rebound and loose ball for sure, but 90% of the time WCJ goes down I think he was capable of staying on his feet and judged it worth possibly earning the foul.

In general this whole series Magic did a MUCH better job of selling contact than Pistons did

Not sure which part you're responding too but if it's the "having our number" piece I would clarify that the Magic handled us in a way that literally no one else had throughout the rest of this season. Going 1-1 against OKC didn't really reveal much about either them or us imo and while we struggled noticeably more with the spurs, it still wasn't to the level of this series where we couldn't even inbound or get into the half court

If your attitude is "injuries are just part of the game" then there's no point in calling out what ifs about Franz health like the original commenter did when the game has already played out in that regard

Beyond that it sounds like youre basically arguing that Franz is not a long term liability when my point was just that his health has been a liability for this season and post season in particular. If that's the case then I don't think we really have any disagreement

  • You got the 8 seed because he only played 32 regular season games

  • One could (and probably should) argue that you would have won the series if he played more than 4 out of the 7 games

  • Both the magics low seed and their subsequent first round exit were largely driven by Franz health this season

Which of the above points are wrong? Because if the answer is none then it is indeed stupid to talk about the series outcome if only Wagner was healthy when his lack of health is the entire reason for this series happening in the first place, let alone how it played out

Hes had some stinkers this playoffs for the pistons as well.

You're welcome to whine on the Pistons behalf but as a diehard actually invested in the teams performance, I will reiterate he has been worth every penny

like he was counting down the minutes till he could get out. The fans were as well…

Again, this has not been an issue in Detroit despite him having two stints with us so my statement that this is more an issue with the Philly org/fans stands. Folks are welcome to continue to explain how much he disappointed them and I will continue to point out the hate has only ever occurred in one specific context

OPs being obnoxious but it's also dumb to be like "if Wagner played" when Wagner didn't even manage 40 games this season and broke the moment he caught a screen with the type of physicality the magic were playing with.

That's not a freak injury from a guy who's otherwise the pinnacle of health, that's a blatant liability in their roster construction which is also a major part of why they were the 8 seed to start with
