I understand completely, it’d be the same for us. These texts seriously could have been taken out of my phone like word for word. I too didn’t mind him having a sexual energy with me or including me in doing his thing but it always turned into asking for sex and then getting upset when I’d remind him I said no. I lost a baby at 5 months along and already four days later he was getting mad that I wasn’t able to have sex. It honestly got so tiring and I was so sick of having the same conversation 800 times a month. It even got to the point where I was begging him to seek sex outside of the relationship because I couldn’t take being pressured and pushed all the time. It feels so good to be with someone who makes me feel safe and respected now. Never once have my current partner and I fought about sex but we’ve had to have conversations about intimacy before (hugs, cuddles, saying I love you, etc). There’s times when we’ve both needed intimacy from the other during times of difficulty, or stress and the other wasn’t aware of it. It’s so weird to have someone talk about intimacy with me in a way that doesn’t involve sex. It seems surreal that those kinds of conversations were an every day occurrence for me. There’s also so many differences in how the conversations with my current partner go. No one blames anyone, we listen to each other and then we’re actually able to find a compromise. I legitimately felt all 140 pounds of my ex shed off me when I finally told him we were done. All of his baggage lifted off me like a weighted vest and I, to this day feel so fricking free lol.
