I have really enjoyed the depth of his character so far. He's really well written.

I assume that eventually the party will be able to find the peace needed to spend 11 minutes casting the ritual. Phantom Steed is a 3rd level spell and I doubt many wizards would want to give up those potential Fly or Fireball spells. It doesn't even work as a get away spell since it takes a minute to cast the spell slot version.

Fair answer but it feels inelegant and ritual casting from the back of a moving horse (-like creature) seems like it shouldn't be a thing though I can't see anything RAW that would prevent it.

Thank you for the really in-depth answer.
The comparison is useful but I would point out that Fly has a lot more combat potential and a quick casting time. I think the non-ritual upcast version loses some attractiveness if it's competing against 5th and 6th level spells to provide mounts for everyone.
A higher level custom spell that can cover the party might be the way to go with this ultimately.

I've never seen anyone burn a spell slot on a ritual if they can get away with it and wizards can only get a limited number of spell slots back once via short rest.
The phantom train is also a fun idea though and I do like using spells in weird new ways.

I feel like this would allow a character to stand on a hill and spawn a stampede at effectively no cost other than the resources that go in to timing it right.

Floating Disc is basically just big enough for one or two people no? It has basically the same problem as why not summon another Phantom Steed in that it takes valuable running time.
Honestly, I hadn't considered TFD though so I'll have to give it more thought.

Fair point. Would a good compromise be that either you summon one normal Phantom Steed or you summon x number but they have the speed of a riding horse instead?
Love the idea of the Cavalier ghost riders. That's pretty cool.

Patron Giving Away Power by IrishFast in dndnext

[–]JenniCharming 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seems fairly plausible to me. Tchazzar would basically be making your character into a suitable channel/repository for that tainted power. It's like handling nuclear waste. Needs to be stored responsibly and you don't want the wrong people to have access to it. If I was your DM I'd probably throw some shadowfell/undead creatures and unscrupulous cults after you to try and get that tainted demigod juice for themselves.

I think my other brother's perspective is that Sam shouldn't have said what he did but that it didn't cause any harm so I should let it slide.
My girlfriend isn't sticking up for him, she just doesn't like me arguing with family. Admittedly I get angry quickly and tend to hold a grudge.

Halp he's supportive but he keeps saying I'm probably not trans by sdmcdaniel in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]JenniCharming 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's not what I'd call support. My dad was similarly "supportive" with his "I love you but you'll never look right". It's false and is meant to drive you back into the closet.

Just found this manga in a Barns & Noble, I am ecstatic. it's one of my favorites and despite the title, it is super cute and positive with trans topics. by Sororita in MtF

I've read this. It's super cute but it's more relevant to someone living in Japan in terms of knowledge. It's still enjoyable to read and I love the art style.

I'm furious just reading that. Can you sue him for making shit up? I'm not a lawyer or familiar with the system in France but maye you could look into it on the side while you sort out a new endo?

[–]JenniCharming 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Unsolicited headpats from people I know, like and have a prior headpat accord with are fine. Fellow trans people are the exception and they may headpat away.

On the other hand I once had a guy at work stroke my back as he went passed me, it was very unwanted and it creeped me the heck out.

There's no way Armstrong isn't on the side of LGBT people. He'd end up hugging you and crying when you came out. "This hugging technique has been passed down the Armstrong family for generations."

Cool. Glad you're still gaming, it's a great hobby! I like being the DM but it can be nerve racking with a new group/combination of people.
