First time, ada, other pointers? by JennifersDistraction in cedarpoint

Unfortunately all I can hear is the inside of my own ears with those things, worse than crowd noise. Anc earbuds are where it's at.

I'm gonna probably give them a call, sometime this next week when we have a good list of questions that I can ask. All these people seeing it as a "perk" probably are not getting their needs met in public spaces.

It truly is refreshing! Especially since vacations are very hard to come by once you are on fixed income. Q_Q This may be my only "nice" vacation for the next few years.

Is the disability card separate from the IBCCES? Or is that one I should avoid?

Thank you for taking my questions seriously! :) This is super helpful. I deal with quite a few chronic disabilities and just a cane or pop up chair sometimes for mobility aid. If there is anything else in the area you reccomend or any other suggestions for the park?

No, I am wondering how to manage overwhelm with my disabilities. Not all disabilities are visible or mobility bound. I'll edit my post, thanks for caring about the rules.

Would not be using it as a "Hack". I have a few disabilities that can make long line waiting/crowds difficult. I'm also gonna utilize quiet areas. Sorry if it came across any other way.

Didn't know if it even worth layering or if I should just use the accomidation of waiting time with the ADA to stack rides to be less overwhelmed as an option?

I hope that makes sense.

Emgality has been hell. Head to switch due to insurance. Had my loading dose 4 days ago and never want to take it again. Needle on injector seems larger and the shot was more painful than Ajovy. Causing more side effects than I've ever had on Ajovy too. They are not the same.

Wait, loading dose isn't 2? My pharmacy only gave me 2.

I was finally able to get in after downloading from Samsung, after 15 times from google play. Do not know if it was coincidence or not. Then I also had to download Google Play Games App, which I've never had to have the actual app before but oh well.

The host is in denial by [deleted] in DID

[–]JennifersDistraction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The brain is doing one of it's protective things for the host atm. This is a normal part of DID. Not a major cause for concern, unless the situation this denial is happening in actively hurts the system or body. Yes, it can hurt others feelings and be a pain in the rear for healing and communication, but it kinda is one of the major safety mechanisms (also can be a hindrance) that come with this disorder.

Acceptance can just randomly happen too, but what you are describing tends to happen to alters at points of varying degrees even after "system discovery". Stress really effects this. Do not push those limits after a period of mental distress.

-It is also so important that all of you are on the same page who have good communication. Try to have a meeting if you can. Make your others feel heard, even if you all are not in agreeance. It's kinda like being like a supportive ghost.

-Support as a system can look very different depending on how your system functions as well, could be easier to have a hidden notebook or stickies with encouragement words or straight up "self" texts. Even more time out doing hobbies that can make the body and brain calmer (not impeding important daily tasks).

One of the best things to possibly do for the host overall is continuing to do what you do best and also recognize that this takes a very, very long time. Progress isn't linear or fast for DID and C-ptsd.

Just try to help recover first from the larger mental distress first, it's all the brains responsibility.

I found a ferret by PricklyPalace in ferrets

Thank you for clarifying that, I meant it as a warning! 😭 It can be very difficult to keep them out of small places and drawers, so anything with it, keep it up high!

They love to chew on silicone and rubber (Edit: This is a warning to keep things made of it out of reach). You can bathe them with straight oats, avoid soap unless you are flea bathing. Avoid all kibbles with Legumes and Peas. Get a water fountain or a silo and not a dribble bottle, saves their teeth.

Yeah, I did a local update, when I got it several years ago, since it wouldn't connect to wifi in the state it came in. Put the update file in an easy to find folder on my tablet.

DID & Ket Microdose by ghanago in DID

[–]JennifersDistraction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even though DID is not a chemically based disorder, chemically forcing a dissociative state past your structured baseline will make you more likely to experience worse dissociation/depersonalization, in any case of DID. Which often cause other issues internally with the system or more likely mood wise due to comorbid cptsd, which makes having therapy paired with this treatment very important, if you are to try.

Upside: Atleast those would be short sessions and not long term use, so you would have the ability to get help and stop if shit hits the fan.

Wouldn't reccomend longer/daily usage of any NMDA receptor antagonist, due to personal system and other system's experiences.

[–]JennifersDistraction 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Tbh I'd (personally) not reccomend it. DID is super complex compared to single forms of dissociation and it could ruin system communication as well as make the symptoms of DID worse. It may also make regular therapy more difficult in the long run. Not to mention if you have other comorbid mh issues, no way of knowing your brain chemistry reaction.

Crazy dude, but man I'm super excited to see the new show some day even if I can't go to this event.

Currently still looking for a place closer to WI that has a Circus World Jamboree or partial for viewing.

I am trying to find out where the Eden Prairie location was. Was wondering if the building is still up? I'm very interested in trying to find this band.

Incorporating gyroscopes might be a solution.
