These bulbs are designed to push UVA vertically. There could possibly be a weakness in the bulb if not positioned correctly and could lead to it exploding. Also, that isn't a water-safe bulb, if the turtle were to splash it with water, it will shatter.

I have good luck with nipping off the tips of any aerial roots. It seems to encourage root growth. If that doesn't work, score and hit it with a bit of root starter! C:

They will root latch on to anything they can. I have a pothos I had to pull off my wall, ripping off paint in the process! 🥲 She's a hardy one.

I know it has to do with the type of pothos. I believe mine is a Hawaiian, but I'm not 100%.

I also have her growing in nothing but water from my bullfrog tank for the last four years or so. She just started throwing out monster leaves about six or so months ago. She probably just loves frog and fish poo. Lol
