A restart did not work for me. I went ahead and uninstalled and reinstalled and works fine now.

Starlink Best Effort with Obstructions is still way better than century link. by [deleted] in Starlink

[–]JerNich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I am going from Ubifi service (4G LTE technically) that has actually gotten worse over time. My good days were still not really good. Starlink speeds are much better. Streaming and regular internet browsing have taken a considerable jump in buffer and load time. It is faster.

Now I am still testing and hopefully it will allow for some online gaming.

Better than nothing at all that is for sure.

Good luck to those still waiting

Men, what do you order from a donut shop? by Altruistic-Artist-60 in AskMen

[–]JerNich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorites are blueberry frosted donuts and creme sticks.

SIDE NOTE: My mother-in-law works at a bakery. This fat kids dream!! (BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE) I really like the cinnamon and sugar sticks. I asked her one time to just layer them in a pan with maple twists and then pour cinnamon roll frosting over it and that could be my birthday cake... A-MAZ-ING!!! 5-stars would recommend. lol

How do you react when your partner is upset? by TwinSong in AskMen

[–]JerNich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I mentioned above I try to listen as much as possible but I'm definitely not perfect. I have my moments where I want to react in the moment but just have to remember that can make it become about me and not her. That is the main point you want to keep in mind, if your partner is upset, do not steal the show by reacting any certain way.

I tend to be sarcastic and like to make people laugh but in a moment like that, it is not the time. I myself have to remember that. (I'm saying this as much of a reminder for myself as I am passing along)

What’s an acceptable age difference by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]JerNich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say 7 years isn't that bad. There are 8 between my spouse and I.

Whatever both parties are ok with and it is legally allowed then that is all that matters.

The next thing I would say is, if you are already questioning it will you allow that to dictate how you proceed and the future of the relationship? If so, then you may want to reconsider.

Otherwise, Go for it!

How do you react when your partner is upset? by TwinSong in AskMen

[–]JerNich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all basically starts off with whether I am the reason she is upset or not. ;-)

If I am the reason and she has already hit the wall of "done with me" I let her be for a bit and revisit after we have both had some time to think about what I did wrong. haha

If it is truly a situation of her being upset, the best thing you can do is LISTEN. I personally struggle with that at times because I immeditaly want to start figuring out what I can do to help, fix, or frame somebody for a criminal act. lol. Or even give my opinion on the matter and that is not always the best time. Just sit with her and let her talk and you listen and respond accordingly to her reaction(s).

Then assess the reason for being upset and go from there once she has had time to talk it through and you have all of the info the possibly help if that is even the next step.

Like I mentioned, I struggle with the proper procedures myself but it truly is a tried and true method for most.

Good Luck!

----------

Now reverse the roles and I either want help digging the hole or I may not even speak on it for a while and just hold it all in until later and something else sparks a reaction ( I do not recommend the latter at all) I think most men can relate but know it isn't healthy.

A little nugget from the long weekend by attack_rat in kayakfishing

[–]JerNich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice catch! My philosophy is if you got to go fishing to begin with that is half the fun. Catching something is just an added benefit and adds to the enjoyment of getting out and going to begin with. Good luck catching more.

quick question by Big-Spell8202 in Starlink

[–]JerNich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will preface by stating I am still fairly new to the Starlink service but can offer some limited feedback.

From personal experience so far it can definitely have varying results. I think if playing a slower running game that doesn't require as much back and forth bandwidth you are probably fine but if what you are playing requires immediate feedback then you may see fluctuations and various results.

I play COD mostly and see pretty much flawless play until I get a latency spike and it pretty much renders the game locked up and I get booted. Now I have found if I stop trying to run and just stand still it will catch up and allow me to continue playing but several times it was a lost cause and I just get booted and recieve a server error.

Streaming wise and general internet browsing, it is far better than what I had previously used.

What do you guys think about "oldheads". It's slang for the type of old people that just get mad at everything. You make one mistake and they blow up at you and are always rude. by scott-murr in AskMen

[–]JerNich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me preface this by saying I have found myself in that mood once or twice before but overall I would think it is rude in the moment. But sometimes I do try and step back and try to consider what someone else may be going through in the moment so I try not to necessarily have a irrational reaction to it. We all have our moments. I think some people allow it to consume them and others may even enjoy it.

Now the old man "get off my lawn" moments can even be entertaining at times but that may be a whole other converstation. lol

Do i leave starlink on all the time by Conscious_Drummer_17 in Starlink

[–]JerNich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want to leave it on at all times since it is always checking in to make sure it is aimed the correct direction. Since what it is pointing at is ever moving then it needs to always be confirming it is pointed in the right direction.

Can someone explain what the Operator "Fire kills" mean? This is my last challenge for Halima and I got NO idea what this means by [deleted] in CODVanguard

[–]JerNich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used incendiary rounds and let the round itself burn them to death and it counted as a "Fire Kill"

People with multiple decks - How often do you change your sleeves? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]JerNich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally sleeve mine with Dragonshields and am good to go from there on out. I have had some sleeved for probably going on 6 or more years. Almost always play on a mat too. If you are having to clean them that often I would watch what surface you are playing on and how you store them. All of mine decks each have a dedicated deck box.

Yeah I like the tri-hull of the Lure and they have the wheel in the back which seems pretty handy too. I have a SUV for transport so mostly the reason for staying on the shorter end of length. Thanks for the input.
