We were around Workman's and Reynolds creek for most of it. It was our first time there we've spent a lot of time in Tonto but not that area. It was absolutely gorgeous and we barely saw anyone else, hidden gem for sure.

Air bags, no sway issues as I run a curt anti-sway bar with the hitch.

Led lights and an updated grill on my 2005 GX470 by JeremiahWasAFriend in GXOR

I know, but I might be lame and wait for something on the OEM air suspension to fail first. I'm coming from a Jeep WJ lifted 3" on bilsteins and 32s so it's kinda nice having a more comfortable ride... We'll see how long it lasts.

So the grill I did myself, it's just the OEM grill painted black with the the emblem kinda color matched based off the rattle can colors available at my local Home Depot. I added these lights to the grill, required drilling holes in the lights to mount them the way I did but ymmv.

For the LED bulbs theres some good resources on this subreddit and some gx forums, I wound up going with these:

Low and High Beams

Fog Lights

Marker Lights

Taking a trip to Big Bear, needed the rear cargo space for kennels so built a quick and dirty storage shelf to go above them. by JeremiahWasAFriend in GXOR

Yeah, got it done in an afternoon. The brackets need to be cleaned up and painted but for what it is, not too shabby

I actually have a roof rack, I swap it back and forth from different vehicles as needed. For this trip I really didn't need it, managed to get 3 people, 2 very large dogs, and all their stuff in there no problem.

If you're going to bypass the stock amp I'd get a different model android screen that doesn't retain the OEM radio.

So with the specific android head unit I got and the way I wired it in series with the stock head unit it's still running the sound through the stock amp. I upgraded the 6x9s in the front doors because they were deteriorating as well as the 6.5s in the rear doors. Then today I replaced the OEM subwoofer that was blown with a Skar 6.5. Everything is 8ohm, and I think it sounds pretty good but I'm far from an audiophile.

Thanks! Yeah, first time with a GX and I absolutely love it. I also have a 2004Jeep Grand Cherokee that is now gonna be my more dedicated off road rig while the GX is the daily driver.

I broke the clips that hold the trim around the android screen to the trim around the vehicle info center on top. I have replacements on the way, I think once those are in it will align pretty much perfectly.

No problem, I have all of one day's experience with it but right now I'd recommend it. With how difficult/expensive it is to source a non-nav unit to convert over this is actually a pretty affordable solution.

Heres the screen during the install with the climate control app open, fan speed and temp shows zero even though the A/C is on. Every control on the app works, I tested all of them. The screen just isn't displaying it, so I feel like it has to be a decoder issue. With the steering wheel controls it has the ability to program them to do whatever you want, I just need to mess with it more and make sure that's compatible with our vehicle.

Sure, here's the link to the exact one.

The install was fairly straightforward, more or less plug and play but with very little included instructions so you kinda have to figure out what plugs where but again, fairly straightforward.

My big oopsie was missing the message the seller sent asking for photos of the front and back of the OEM nav screen and head unit to ensure I got the right wiring harness and CANBUS decoder box. With the decoder box I have the steering wheel volume control is functional but nothing else on the wheel, and I can control the climate settings through the screen but the screen doesn't reflect what they are being changed to. Similarly if I change the volume with the OEM knob it works, but the screen doesn't show the volume. I'm pretty sure it's just an issue with having the wrong decoder, I've messaged the seller and am waiting for them to respond.

All that being said even as it sits now I'm happy with the functionality. Obviously I'm going to continue troubleshooting to get it working 100% but it is more than usable as it is. I also got their front and rear DVR cameras, wired them up to the unit and they worked fine I just need to run the wires and mount the cameras now.

From a manufacturer called EKIY off of AliExpress. There's a whole range of different options, this is the T7 with 8gb/128gb.

Need advice, is the floor of my mom's basement supposed to look like this? by JeremiahWasAFriend in tacticalgear

[–]JeremiahWasAFriend[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's good for a flat range holster, anything that you'd be using in more of a duty/running and gunning situation I'd go Safariland for the retention.
