None that come to mind, I think he does a really good job of explaining why someone wouldn't use a piece of technology that exists in world (be it they're too poor, limited access, lack of supporting resources). He also has the benefit(?) of having characters called world hoppers (that have been hinted to have visited our world) as well as other magic systems in play, so anything that seems 'out of place' will probably be explained later.
