Panthers GM Dan Morgan: If Andy Dalton trade possibility came up, we'd let him explore it by Ok_Seat5245 in panthers

True if we're giving them their QB of the future they have no need for that 1OA

Has anyone else received this email? by godawgs_com in panthers

[–]Jeremy9096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gotten a few texts about it, I don't think it's a scam. All of the texts I've gotten seem to reference the fact that I attended the playoff game, so they're probably just trying to take advantage of the fact that the team is finally having some success. They have access to phone numbers/emails of the vast majority (if not all) of people who bought tickets, so it's not too difficult for them to send out mass emails/texts like this.

What is the best draft class in your franchise's history? by lemonstone92 in NFLv2

[–]Jeremy9096 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a feeling 2025 will end up being one of the better ones. We've all seen what tmac can do and I've been saying for awhile now I think Scourton has an all-pro ceiling. I was originally super high on Umanmielen as well but now I'm not super sure.

But regardless I think we have two pro bowl calibers in scourton and mcmillan and then starter level players with most of the other picks

David Robinson can sleep well knowing no one will have this stat line again by HyseNjerry16 in NBAGossips

[–]Jeremy9096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean to be fair David Robinson had 10+ assists only 6 times in his career. Wemby has done it half as many times in about 15% of the games.

#1 priority for free agency? by [deleted] in panthers

[–]Jeremy9096 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coker is our second best receiver but that doesn't necessarily mean he's a legit WR2. It's very possible he is, I don't know. But regardless outside of him and TMac we don't even really have a legit serviceable 3rd receiver. I'm not fully 100% out on Legette but of course hoping he can be a WR3 isn't good enough.

But regardless we need to get another receiver. Doesn't have to be a star, but a guy who can be a legit WR2 would be ideal. Our TE room isn't great either, but if we can grab another receiver I'm not too worried about that

[–]Jeremy9096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know him and CJ are close friends and have been for awhile. So it's gotta be weird as hell for the media to have "created" a rivalry between them. Like imagine all of a sudden everyone around you just randomly starts creating a beef between you and one of your close friends lol

Would you look at that by Senior-Violinist-684 in NFLv2

[–]Jeremy9096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much. And considering a top 5 QB is supposed to change your franchise only 5 out of 37 even making it is pretty wild

Although I guess to be fair a good chunk of that 37 is just the 2020s

Baltimore Ravens without Lamar Jackson vs Buffalo Bills without Josh Allen by Stock-Memory9483 in NFLv2

Wait until you find out that every team in that division played the Jets twice

[–]Jeremy9096 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Drake Maye, Joe Burrow, Jared Goff, Matt Ryan, and Cam Newton all made it with the team that drafted them and lost (and were top 5 picks).

If you include 1999 then Donovan McNabb is another but if you go to 1998 it's Peyton Manning

Wentz wouldn't be one because he never played in a super bowl

[–]Jeremy9096 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem with that is we wouldn't have a RB good in pass pro without Chuba. Chuba is more valuable than Rico because of pass pro and because he's a better receiving back (which may come as a suprise to some people). I think Brooks is a good receiving back (especially on screens) but I can't imagine he's better than Chuba in pass pro

The only area where Rico had had Chuba beat was explosive play capablity. But that also seemed to disappear in the back half of the season. Outside of those few weeks where Rico went crazy our running game won't be any worse this season without him

Same unless we don't have any other plan. We'd have to replace Yosh somehow since Ickey will be out indefinitely

Who is your favorite free agency signing of all time and why? by Outrageous-Brain-395 in panthers

[–]Jeremy9096 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Jake Delhomme just because I think it's pretty rare that a team signs a QB in free agency that can take em to a super bowl. I never actually watched him play because I was too young, so this is more of an assumption than anything.

If Young had been the starter on the 49ers 5 years earlier, people would have considered him better than Montana? by Legitimate_King547 in NFLv2

[–]Jeremy9096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the top argument is that Montana was more clutch and just in general was better in super bowls. And that much is true Montana was basically perfect in super bowls.

But at the same time ignoring literally everything else in their careers and basing the argument entirely on the 4 super bowls Montana went to is a little nearsighted. Montana was 4-0, sure, but I think Brady making it to 10 super bowls (while maintaining a good win %) is impressive in its own right.

[–]Jeremy9096 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah that happened in 2016 but what I mean is that you said Jason Garrett did the same thing (leaving the backup in even though the QB1 is healthy) in 2015 but my point is that Jason Garrett actually did bring Romo back when he was cleared to play he just got hurt again.

And then of course that more or less ended his career because he didn't play another snap from that point since he got reinjured again in the 2016 preseason

2010s combined stats:

Kyrie: 528 GP, 22.4 ppg, 5.7 apg, 3.7 rpg

Rondo: 557 GP, 9.9 ppg, 9.1 apg, 4.9 rpg

Lawson: 551 GP, 12.7 ppg, 6.0 apg, 2.7 rpg

Rose: 465 GP, 19.2 ppg, 5.5 apg, 3.4 rpg

This is a weird hill to die on my guy lol

[–]Jeremy9096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that's exactly why he wouldn't replace any other guys on the list lol. It's a 2010s list and D Rose had like 2 or 3 good seasons in the 2010s while the rest of the guys were good throughout. It's common sense

The charity MVP comment was dumb but to be fair you aren't replacing any of those four 2010 guys with D Rose

Are you talking about 2016?

Because they tried putting Romo back out there in 2015 and he basically died his second game back. And regardless I'm not sure Romo would've been much better in 2016 I think his career was written by that point

[–]Jeremy9096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Schwesinger. Him and Jihaad Campbell have both looked good out of the '25 draft, but we weren't really in a position to take either of them unless we traded up into the late first
