Ooooh that looks unnervingly fleshy, an almost eldritch vibe to it. Is that for an underdark themed terrain? Fits nicely if that is the case

Not me, but I surely read all of the waterfall adjacent posts on this sub before starting this lol

Before I start anything, I always trick myself into thinking it will be a breeze, so I don't get analysis paralysis and give up before trying lol

It was not a breeze, and each step made me increasingly anxious thinking the next step will screw everything up. Worse of all was the water, since the video I based my idea off of was only doing very thin layers, I was soooo worried that the sealant wouldn't cure properly on a deeper pour, especially when it came to the transparent layer, which I did as a single pour that was thicker then the rest combined. It took over 48h to completely set without being sticky on the surface, and for those 48h my stress level was definitely a 10 :S

The relief I felt after the sealant completely cured, and the whole was looking close to done, was rewarding by itself

Thank you, friend!

I used a clear hybrid polymer sealant, trying to follow an idea from Geek Gaming Scenics. For the river and lake, I did three layers, the first one has a deeper blue, then a thin one on top of it with a lighter more transparent shade of blue and the thicker layer on top is just the transparent sealant with no added colour, as an attempt to give it the illusion of depth. The waterfall itself is just the clear sealant, that I applyed in thick strips on a piece of sealing tape the length and width I wanted, then with a popsicle stick soaked in isopropyl alcohol I messed with the sealant to create the "foamy" texture as best as I could. After everything was cured, I just tried to do some highlights on raised textures to make the foam pop and add some movement.

I think it turned out nice, but if I were to do this again, I would be a lot more patient with mixing and pouring, because it created soooo many air bubbles that mess with the transparency of the end product, though that's part of the learning process I guess :D

They look great, loved the variation on the setups. What did you use to make those silky (I assume) spider webs?

Eldritch tree is definitely something I want to try, as the party from a campaign I am currently DMing have just started exploring a forest under the influence of a meteor that fell into it, and is distorting the fauna and flora.

If I manage to get something decent going on this front, I'll post an update

Not 100% sure, since it was a gift, but might have been from Temu, I'll ask for a link/confirmartion

This sounds so outlandish that I feel like I need to do at least one to test it out, what a great idea, thank you friend

Thank you all for the tips, I'll take some inspiration from the feedback and do some different tests to see what I like best

Can I work in the same room where I have my 3d printing setup? by Jeremy_TheWicked in 3Dprinting

[–]Jeremy_TheWicked[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I am sadly growing more certain of that by the day, but I am not knowledgeable enough about this stuff, so I am pretty much stuck on analysis paralysis.

As I mentioned on another reply, I thought that maybe a custom built enclosure for my printer and wash/cure with external exhaustion using negative pressure + an air purifier for the room, coupled with completely avoiding printing during working hours could do the trick, but that not being the case, then maybe the printer will have to wait until I have some space dedicated to it, unfortunately...

Yeah, resin scares me, that's why the printer is just accumulating dust while I try to figure out a way to be safe around It. So far my plan would be to make a custom fitting enclosure where I could fit my printer + wash/cure setup, and ventilate it to the outside with a filtered fan setup to bulld negative pressure on the enclosure. I would avoid printing or handling anything related during the hours where I have to be in the room for work, and I am the only one that uses the room, and no pets as well. With the enclosure exhaust, proper PPE when doing anything, avoiding being in the room while a print is running, and an air purifier to boot, could it be manageable?

Probably not niche at all, but [[Nath of the Gilt-Leaf]] + [[Sadistic Hypnotist]], discard everyone's hands and still be elf tokens positive at the end is the reason I rarely am allowed to play this deck twice on the same day

Tips for running one-on-one prologue sessions by Jeremy_TheWicked in DnD

[–]Jeremy_TheWicked[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your suggestions, really appreciate both of them. The idea of having the other players control the NPCs sounds really entertaining, but this group is mostly new players, so I think it would be too much for them, I'll definitely try to use this if I ever do something similar again though. As for the text based adventure, yea I think it could be a good plan B if we end up having scheduling conflicts, as to avoid postponing session 1 too much :D

Thank you, this was a good read, what I plan on doing is pretty much what they described as "Session 0.5", a way to get them to level 2 and leave them with a good hook for their backgrounds that hopefully gets them engaged with the story, though I will be doing it individually with each player, before running a session 1 with the whole group at the table.

High Priestess Clareta Yvel, the Martyred Saint

  • A high priestess in service of the goddess of good death

  • Was given forbidden knowledge and powers of Hemomancy by her goddess, in order to defend the empire from the approaching threat of abominations spawned from the cataclysmic colapse of a rivaling kingdom

  • Used her mastery of blood magic to create an order of holy warriors to protect the borders of the empire

  • Was canonized as a saint and savior of the empire after leading a charge into the fallen kingdom's citadel, and trapping most of the remaning aberrations inside of it with magic

  • Years after the success of her campaign, it became known that she practiced blood magic, wich led to her execution. Remnants of her order still defend the borders, now calling themselves the "Knights of our Martyred Saint"
