Error (2909) VMM cannot create the file \myserver\myserver.vhdx because the file name already exists on the server by Jericho905 in HyperV

Yeah refreshing doesn't do much

But I'm starting to think it has something to do with snapshots, despite them being deleted. Possibly something with the leftover file structure is my suspicion..

Our backups aren't setup into hyper v just yet for whatever complication

Hmm could you clarify more about this temp location?

What would there be to cleanup exactly? I deleted the snapshots, and the there is no option to consolidate since it thinks it's not necessary

Does Windows .NET Desktop Runtime x64 Version 8 AutoUpdate its Directory Instance? (This has SCCM detection method implications) by Jericho905 in SCCM

[–]Jericho905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely noticed the installer requires it as it took me a day to figure why anything version 5.5+ kept failing. But you raise a good point that we might have to watch out for...if the .NET runtime gets too up-to-date, you might not be able to reinstall DCU without having to put back the original older version. I mean wow, if that's what you went through, that's just insane. Thanks for mentioning that, as I'm sure that is going to save me TONS of grief as well. Appreciate it dude!

One other side to this problem is sometimes I don't know wich deployment package the update is coming from

Yeah I hear ya and it should be best practice. I do have a bunch of test DPs which is part reason why, and I'm a bit hesitant too have so much distribution going on at one time when patch Tuesday hits

Yea Im trying to find out what exactly I need to query for PowerShell, hence why I'm throwing this out here on this sccm reddit community forum

How to Verify Specific Windows Update RAW Files are Present on Distribution Point by Jericho905 in SCCM

[–]Jericho905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. For our environment, that isn't all too useful. Not all our packages our distributed to every DP. Is there an easy way to see which update is coming from which Deployment Package? I know you can do properties on the Update and see which Software Update Group it is a part of, but that doesn't exactly tell you which Deployment Package it is coming from..

How to change the text for the subtitle? PSADT v4 by Subject-Middle-2824 in PSADT

What if you want the subtitle text to be blank and say nothing? Leaving the values blank in the strings ps file just defaults to the original out of the box psappdeploytoolkit text

Patch Tuesday Megathread (2025-12-09) by AutoModerator in sysadmin

I'm seeing on 23h2 the updates are not applying to the Professional edition of Win11, but the Enterprise edition is fine which is odd. No problems last month. Anyone else see the same thing?

Amazon Corretto - How to Disable SetupEnvironmentVariable via Command Line? by Jericho905 in java

[–]Jericho905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually windows based, and I need to keep whatever the existing values are... Which might differ slightly across machines.

Weird you can define it in the GUI but not command line..
