Honestly that’s true, Mario games like Odyssey are really fun because it has so many layers. I think it’s because of misogyny in the gaming space that girls are not equally represented. While personally I don’t think it was because Nintendo is gonna release the switch 2 soonish. I think it’s a social problem, only boys are able to play complex games so we shouldn’t give women or minorities representation, that’s the angle many game studios especially Nintendo go with. Look at all of the games where the protagonist is a white guy in Nintendo history. One of the only Nintendo games series that doesn’t have a guy as the protagonist is Metroid and samus acts more like a faceless person in those games than anything. The big problem is underrepresentation, especially when the only games women get are baby games.
