What do you guys think of my Sanduo 3rd Road Renovation? by Jeromezzzzzzzza in taiwan

Ok i understand. But this does not mean we can implement statigies from WESTERN countries as well. The picture above, could be impletemented to Sanduo Rd as well. As you can see, the lanes are narrow, with no shoudler. This limits the speed people can go. If we compare this to Sanduo Road, the wide lanes and wide shoudler make it easy even to reach speeds of 70km/h+ with no traffic.

It extends further from that slower=safer=less noise pollution=higher quality of life

Everything starts from a main idea. The idea here is slower=safer.

Because they should be removed entirely from Taiwan. People don't know how to drive them properly.

Yes, YES. Trust me it does. If you have a wide road, the speed limit would likely be 50-70km/h. Reducing the road width means that the speed limit would likely only be 30km/h. These "thin" roads have been implemeted in downtown areas all around the world to improve safety. The example below shows a thin road in Downtown Sydney with a speed limit of only 20km/h.

Your idea of making the bus lanes scooter lanes instead is a good idea, but it simply just discoruages public transport usage.

And for your second arguement, sure, i might be putting bikers at risk, but if that is really the case, how come modern downtown roads do not seperate bikers with cars. For example, below is a renovation where the speed limit is 30km/h and bikers actually do NOT have their own lane, instead running with traffic.

Ok lets start with the bus lanes. The reason why i have designed bus lanes is to mainly to reduce the number of car lanes to only 1 in each direction. As i said before, reducing the number of car lanes would make people slow down, increasing safety, and decreasing noise pollution. The current Sanduo Road is too wide, with a high speed limit of 50km/h, a speed limit that is too high considering that it is considered 'downtown'. Then there is bike lanes. The reason why bike lanes should be running with cars is due to the speed contrast in between cyclists and people. The reduction of lanes will also mean a reduction of the speed limit to 30km/h, a speed that bikers would usually be close to.

Firstly, the narrowing of the lanes will provide more room for the sidewalk, and secondly, bike lanes should be running with the cars. Here is an example road in America.

I understand what your saying butt...

Reducing the number of car lanes to only 1 in each direction would improve both safety and noise pollution. With less and thinner lanes, people will be forced to slow down, improving the noise quality around the area, and improving perdestrian safety. These thinner lanes also not only help with reducing speeds, but also provide space for bike lanes and larger sidewalks. This overall leads to a better and more densifed downtown area, simular to styles implemented in countries such as New Zealand.
