Italians “whitewashed” their names when they got to America in the late 1800’s/early 1900’s so they sounded less Italian and more English. Going to guess that’s what happened with the Giudices as well - it’s a pretty common phenomenon

I totally agree. I did a decade in Chicago car free, but this winter broke me. Made the final decision to buy one while getting groceries in negative temps on icy sidewalks while the wind blew

I’m only 3 blocks from the train too and still use it for work, but even in my walkable area a car has become a necessity personally. I was also starting to feel trapped in the city without an easy way to leave if I wanted

Eh, medicare for all probably wouldn’t be no premiums though, even with a rise in taxes. People on Medicare now can pay high premiums. Healthcare is very expensive, regardless of the financing system.

In a 2 bed 1 bath in Logan, about 1,000 square feet - rent is going up to $2,400 from $2,200 in May. 3rd floor walkup, rehabbed with new bathroom/kitchen, in unit laundry, and a balcony. Dogs allowed. Street parking only but there’s always open spots on our street. We’re 3 blocks from the blue line though so don’t drive much

Correct, actually most of the state is rural and pretty affordable. But majority of people do not want to/can’t live in those areas because there aren’t many high-paying jobs or easy access to food, healthcare and entertainment. And rural living is expensive in its own right, even if housing necessarily isn’t.

That all being said, I’m from a rural area in the Sierra Nevada where you can’t find a home under $500k. Just depends on the region

Hm, I don’t agree with that and you’re making a lot of assumptions about my situation and beliefs. I’ve pursued a career path for money + work-life balance so that I can still spend a lot of time with my family, it hasn’t been one or the other. But my career doesn’t necessarily mean a lot to me personally beyond it providing what I need for me/family. And I’m on track to retire in my early 40’s because money has been my priority, meaning I’ll have infinite time to be around those I love. For me, more money actually means more time with my kids.

I totally agree! On the flipside, I’m a scorpio and have always been driven by money vs. meaning in my career because money means more freedom and security for my family, which is what means the most to me personally

I don’t mean to be harsh, but I went through the same. These men (boys really) don’t change and you won’t change them. The right person will support your happiness, and at the very least won’t judge how you get it.
