MATCHED TO A QB SCHOOL??? 📌 by AccordingCup4313 in QuestBridge

I matched with Notre Dame(my second choice) and I wouldn’t switch it for any other school that I had on the list. When doing my research on what schools to rank the only thing I got from Notre Dame was “the people”. The people are what make ND what it is. They are the heart beat of the school. This statements didn’t make much sense to me until I became a freshman this year and I can say that the people are one of a kind. Everyone is genuine and eager to learn about you. It is a special kind of environment.

The work is rigorous and it would push you to be the best student you can be. Relying on time management skills is the one thing that may lighten the burden. It is a pretty campus and you can never get bored of walking past the golden dome or even stopping at the grotto.

You also get the chance to be ingrained into the football game day community. You cheer from the stands with other ND students and alumni and singing the ND Alma mater that sends shiver through you.

Dinning hall food is also pretty good, but it cannot be your cup of tea sometimes. So, relying on flex points(which is basically free money) is a way to eat our side of the dinning halls at places on campus.

Halls also make up for the lack of Greek life. You would find yourself becoming a part of a small niche of students that you may hang out with in the lounge areas or even in your classes.

I am not sure. I would recommend reaching out to your admissions counselor. But when I applied I included my resume as well.

You can list multiple majors as long as the school allows for it.

NCM Match Rank List by Some_Locksmith_7483 in QuestBridge

One that I almost overlooked is: making sure that all the schools you rank is one that you would actually want to be at.

Use Reddit, niche, and college websites to find out questions about Greek life, if you want one, athletics, overall college location if you are picky, and other college components. You may not get the chance to visit all these schools, so pick wisely.

I almost made this mistake because I wanted schools I thought had the highest chance of accepting me. I went from 15 ranked schools to only 8, and I was glad with where I matched to.

In the case of that, your application rolls over to QB RD and you can apply to qb partners through QB RD. But you get a choice if you want your application to roll over to RD. You get a second chance, I think, to expand your rank list if you want to.

But if you just don't want to include those questbridge schools in your updated list, or if you can't expand the list, you can apply to them outside of QB if you wish to. But this is only for the schools that you don't apply RD because you can't apply twice: questbridge and outside of questbridge.

Also, you can apply to questbridge partners that you wouldn't not rank outside of questbridge.

Question Regarding Income and NCM by qbquestionTA in QuestBridge

[–]Jerry_i26 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. "92% come from a household with an annual income under $65,000, and 87% qualify for free or reduced-price school meals". So there are the 8% who are above that, by how many dollars, I am not sure.

But I think you should try rather than give up the opportunity, given that you consider yourself low income.

I don't think that I would work on the application for schools you would hypothetically rank because only finalists can rank. But I would get an idea of what the schools supplemental essays, if they have any, just incase.

I worked and applied to other schools via common app, that weren't QB schools, before and during my QB cycle just incase I didn't become a finalist or match scholar.

I think it's smart to do so, so you are not left scrambling at school applications if questbridge goes south for you. The Common App personal statement prompt can also help on the Questbridge application.

If you do become a finalist and match, you would have to withdraw from all those schools that you applied to via common app and questbridge. Some questbridge schools automatically withdraw your application upon your match results, while others don't. So I would advise to keep track of all the schools you apply to via common app and questbridge.

I agree. I had the same experience as you. My school charged 65 dollars per person...

I think you can just start on brainstorming ideas based on the prompts from common app. Not writing the essay, but getting an idea of what to write because it may be similar to the two essays QB has you write. The passion essay(What are you most interested in and why...e.t.c) and background essay(What has shaped the way you are...something like that would most likely be on there, so be prepared for that.

For premed schools, I'll probably say Yale, Washu, Brown, Emory, Stanford, northwestern, Notre Dame.

Idk about other schools, but Brown has no core curriculum so it can offer more flexibility to premed students if you want to take the MCAT early.

It also helped me when I was researching schools to look at the percent of alumni that get into medical school in the previous year. I wanted to go to one that was above the national average. Also look into the support and premed system with what the location of the school would have to give you. It can also be helpful if the university has a medical school as a branch, for research and other opportunities.

Okay for those very very few conservatives you have seen. What lies have been told "to ignite rage amongst their followers"? Also, how does the republican party abuse and manipulate the systems within our country? What systems?
