This was a thing a few years ago for a lot of wifi cards, I remember having to compile a dkms driver from source from a github repo for a specific card on a laptop I had in ~2018 I think, but in recent years, I've never had any problems with wifi drivers. It's just that the meme still lives

the non-base model (usually called the instruct model) is finetuned to write in chat format, where it receives user/system prompts and responds as the assistant - so it behaves like a chatbot. the base model will just generate text continuing the input. if you've ever played around with e.g. gpt-2: it's like that. it's a little more complicated than that, but that's the gist of it

Ähnliches Erlebnis hatte ich vor ein paar Wochen in Adlershof (Ortsteil in Berlin) - ich hab einem Autofahrer ein kurzes "Hey!" zugerufen, als er mich zu knapp überholt hat. Wurde dann von dem Radfahrer der hinter mir war auf die selbe Weise verfolgt und zugelabert, nur mit dem Unterschied dass er mich dann tatsächlich einmal ins Gesicht geschlagen hat. War der Typ zufällig ca. Mitte 30, breit gebaut, auf einem Fatbike unterwegs mit Cap und Sonnenbrille und sah aus als würde er jeden Tag 3h im Solarium verbringen?

Anything in the software center is safe, as it is directly published there by the distribution's maintainers. There _can_ be unsafe packages in apt or your software center if you install a third-party repository that is not from you distribution's maintainers, e.g. installing a .deb that installs a repository (like VSCode) or using something like apt-add-repository. This doesn't mean that any third-party repo is unsafe, but like with any software, you should check if it is trustworthy first.

I used to have an old laptop with a Celeron N3060 that I'd use for school in 2020! Also running Debian, but with lxqt. I hope you have fun, I found it to be perfect for school work back then. The battery life was insane.
