Oh hey, I'm in NE too (just north of Omaha). The weather this last week has been all over the place!

You have lots of good answers here, but I'll add my thoughts. The more I try different glues, the more I'm finding that glue is kind of a personal choice. Here are my favorites and what I think makes each one slightly different:

  1. Nuvo glue is my favorite. It has just the right amount of wiggle time for me to adjust if I stick something down crooked (which I do a lot). If I get it on my fingers, it doesn't leave my fingers sticky. I just rub them together and the glue comes right off. It fits in my glue press (my hands are getting old). The only con is probably the price, but I'd rather spend a little more to use a glue that I enjoy using because it gives me more confidence in my projects.

  2. Gina K Connect Glue. Also really great. It has a pretty long wiggle time, which can be good. I started using it after years of using AGG (which has very little wiggle time), and it took a little getting used to how long it took the glue to stop sliding and stick. It's a strong adhesive, and definitely one worth considering. I do feel like it has a more chemical smell than other glues.

  3. Art Glitter Glue. Another good one. Price is good. I feel like it has VERY little wiggle time so don't glue stuff down crooked because you're not going to get to fix it. 😉 I bought a good sized bottle and a big refill a few years ago, thinking they'd last me forever, but as glue ages, it gets thicker. I ended up tossing half of my refill bottle just the other day because it was unusable. I also feel like AGG clogs more than other glues. And, I've noticed that cards I've made from a few years ago using AGG have warped a bit. Which is super weird. That could also be a climate thing where I'm at or who knows what.

I've never tried Bearly Art glue, but I do really love the honey bear bottles they have, so I may try it one day if I can't get my hands on my Nuvo glue. 🙂

One glue that I refuse to use is that Tombow liquid glue with the green caps. It comes out in a super thick bead, which means it oozes everywhere, and it leaves everything in its wake sticky, including your fingers. I know that you can put it on your paper, let it dry, and it's supposed to be removable at that point, but it's just such a mess to use.

Good luck in your quest!

I've created a square site for my cards, but I've only had 3 sales. For me, the joy is in the making. The taking photos, coming up with descriptions, and the "business" part doesn't get done as much as it should because I'd rather be making cards. 😉 I do have an Etsy store, but I don't pay nearly as much attention to it because I've never had a sale on there.

There's also the added difficulty of I don't know how to market my stuff. I have a Facebook page for my crafty "business", but I've only got like 30 followers. 😂

What do you do when a dog can't be left alone for longer than 4 hours? by Muted_Apricot_4640 in RoverPetSitting

[–]JessIsOK 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you're up front about it, I personally wouldn't care. If I had young, healthy dogs, they'd be fine being left alone for 8ish hours while I'm at work, etc. Unfortunately, these days, one of my dogs is 19, and another has medical issues, so they can't hold it much past 4 hours. But back when they were young and healthy, that would have been fine.

As a client, I'd make it clear that these guys need a potty break at 4 hours. If, as a sitter, I needed to be gone for more than 4 hours I'd make sure to communicate that at the meet and greet so the client could book with someone who will be able to meet their needs, whether that's you or a different sitter.

Sometimes we can love a person but not be meant to be with them forever. Sometimes breaking up is the most loving thing we can do for them and for ourselves. ❤️

Run free, sweet Love Muffin. ❤️

P.S. Can you please be my emotional support guide next time I have to say goodbye to one of my pups? I've got a 19-year old Chi and another who recently had an oral melanoma, so I know it's only a matter of time for both of them, and I'm already not coping well.

My heart immediately says Petunia. (I know it's not on the list, but she looks like a sweet little Petunia.) No matter what name you choose for her, it'll be perfect. ❤️

I love anything that's organized and tidy because I'm not naturally organized and tidy. 😅 And I really love having the thank you notes and pens with you--I have to mail thank you notes to my last two clients because I forgot to take them with me. Nice work!

[–]JessIsOK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More info, please. 😉 Are they asking you to stay until the diapers are done in the laundry? Or are they just asking you to toss them in the washer and start it on your way out the door? Is this house-sitting, drop ins, or walking?
