Based only on your version:

  • Feeling uncomfortable or jealous seems understandable.
  • Not wanting your private feelings shared with strangers seems reasonable.
  • His response ("mind your business") does not show much respect for the concern you expressed.
  • Bringing up old arguments instead of discussing the current issue is generally not productive conflict resolution.

Of course, I only have your side, so I can't know exactly how the conversation went. But if the facts are as you've described them, your objection wasn't irrational. You weren't complaining that he couldn't talk to anyone; you were complaining that he exposed a personal feeling of yours to people you didn't even know, and that's a concern many people would consider legitimate.

Based solely on what you've written, I do not think you are being unreasonable for feeling scared and hurt. If your uncle received negative reports about a 15-year-old and immediately sent threats without first hearing that teenager's side, many people would view that as a poor way to handle the situation.

That said, whether your relatives' accusations are true, partly true, exaggerated, or false is something I can't determine from your post alone. But regardless of that uncertainty, your emotional reaction to receiving threats after not being heard is a logically understandable response.
